Why don't you consider getting a fmic so tha you can ugrade your radiator if you want to?RenzoMSP said:Its close, but not close enough to melt the rear skirt ( I could fit my finger in between). Also some times it hits it, but its only once in awhile. Hazes dynos weren't that bad. Im thinking of getting CustomMSP smic next. What do you guys think?
IMO a fmic is just overkill at this point, i still have a lot of work to do until it would really benfit the carChiMSP said:Why don't you consider getting a fmic so tha you can ugrade your radiator if you want to?

How much bigger is the core on a smic than it is on the stock one then?Velocifero said:IMO a fmic is just overkill at this point, i still have a lot of work to do until it would really benfit the car
brianmcd said:Do you guys have more clearance than this? I put the kartboys on the front of the car, but if I were to put them on the back section it'd put the muffler in my bumper. I think I got the bad exhaust out of the bunch ;\

here is a link for a comparison thread on the SMICs that are avaialable for our car:ChiMSP said:How much bigger is the core on a smic than it is on the stock one then?
dirtysouth_msp said:LOL, I would not go back to that shop if I were you, joefufu. The "special" wires come with the exhaust, along with instructions. I did it myself. It was pretty much just like extending speaker wire or something like that. Just follow the instructions carefully or find a shop that is willing to read instructions. Also, make sure you or whoever you get to do it, insulates the fcuk out of the connectors and the extension.
EDIT: LOL, you must have been posting while I was writing. You need a good set of wire strippers, a good set of crimpers, and some good insulating materiel. I may have gone overboard, but I used Heatshrink Tubing, then electrical tape, then cold shrink tape.
Haze20 & RenzoMSP. I used new kartboy hangers and I have no clunk at all. However, I could not use the kartboy on the very back, near the bumper. It made the tip of the exhaust sit way too close to the rear bumper. I was kinda afraid that it would melt the rear piece of the body kit. I actually got a hanger from a local exhaust shop that's a little longer and it works great. Probably could have just used one of the stock hangers but I just cut the stock ones off.
dirtysouth_msp said:I had the same problem. I could only use three of them. The very rear one made the tip sit way too close. I used a different hanger in that spot and it works fine. Probably just a combination of slight variations in the car and in the exhaust, no big deal. The Kartboys in the front should keep you from clunking. You could always heat up the actual hangers rods and bend them a little, if you really want to use all four.
BlkZoomZoom said:Lol.? O2 sensors use shielded wires...which are kinda hard to come by. Probably why the shop said they couldn't do it...
brianmcd said:Yeah, so now do you have more or the same clearance than me? I might try throwing the third KB on there, but I think it'll raise it up too high. Even with the KBs I still have a little bit of clunk up front. I might get some washers to move the xmember down a little.
