After a couple months of plotting and planning, the '01 Engine is finally assembled, installed, and running in the CSP car. I have a few hundred miles of break-in miles to go before I unleash it on the dyno or at an auto-x, but it should be good to go for nationals this year. The engine is controlled via Megasquirt, but I had to build a controller to use the OE crank/cam sensors and control the VVT. I haven't had a chance to dial in the VVT yet, but everything so far seems promising.

The build consists of .020 oversized pistons, hogged out '99 intake manifold (over 3 lbs of metal removed in emissions and misc crap), port matched head, lots of stuff. Hopefully, I'll have a ringer once everything is dialed-in.

Man that looks clean in there w/ the re-sprayed engine bay

One last one. Everything connected and installed. I'm on the hunt for different coils, hence the mismatched wires. I currently am still using the 1.6L coil pack as a temporary solution. COP would be ideal, but not easily executable with the 01+ valve cover arrangement.
