New CX9 Owner

:
Mazda, CX9 Grand Touring 2014
Rolled home with a new 2014 AWD Meteor Gray Grand Touring CX9 with the tech package on Friday. Love the ride and was wondering what I should keep my eye on the first few months as the car gets seasoned.

Nothing to worry. Observe the break-in period. (avoid hard charging, and braking)
Enjoy the new ride and welcome to the board.

Watch for the first door ding. Always sucks when that happens. The second one is not as bad.

Thanks for the welcome.

I've been parking a long way out to try to delay the first ding and driving nice for the break in.

Rawyzf, interested in how well your winter wheel/tire set up improves your snow experience. I'm about 4 hours south of you and we get plenty of white stuff down here. I've been looking at snow tires, traded in a Jeep for the CX9, one thing the jeep could do is get through the snow.

If you're in the snow belt, I'd recommend getting a set of dedicated winter tires. The CX9 AWD is great in the snow, but pretty much a tank with the Blizzaks. Plus, the OE Bridgestone are not a great winter tire. They are good 3 season tires in my opinion. 3 Winters on this set of Blizzaks so far, and nothing but positive things to say about those tires. They look to still have at least 1 winter left on them before they pass the winter bar marker and become a standard all season tire. At that point, I will sell them and get a new set for winter.

Welcome! By the way, what's a snow tire? Are they really made out of snow?

Of course not...it's a tire that, when you put them on...it begins to snow!! ;) Of course, I wouldn't know personally. (sun)

Do it. The OEM tires are not good in the snow at all with the 20" set up.

Homebrew,
Congrats and welcome! Meteor Gray color is a nice choice. Luxurious color (2thumbs)
