2012 CX 9GT
Just wanted to say Hi, I am the new owner of a CX-9 GT in blue. I think that I like it if I could just drive it, it has been at the dealer more than at home.

Curious about your issues ... We normally don't hear of many issues. Welcome to the group!

It was the last 2012 on the lot, I bought it Saturday, took it back Sunday to show the issues, took it Monday for detail (water spots were bad, build date of 8/11), picked it up Tuesday (after they had the detail come back) looking nice, took it back today for horrible sounding BOSE (the new speakers are in), the alarm is not working, and they had to order me a second key.

I think they will have to order more speakers tomorrow, they ordered the door ones but I think that the dash speakers are the bad ones. My ten year old truck with the BOSE System sounds better and more crisp not all muddy with static.

The two days I had it I loved it and the zoom-zoom. It is not as fast as my truck but handles better than it. I think I got a pretty good deal 30K plus tax. I wish it was AWD but i have my truck for that.

Welcome! sorry to hear about your issues. I think my oem Bose speakers sound pretty good, have never had an issue. (Obviously there are much better options out there, but the oem is not that shabby). Very strange sir.

Hope you get it all worked out!

Thanks for the support, the area rep will be out next week to listen to it, the service manager says there is a problem but Mazda will only replace after the reps says too.

Welcome DDDonkey-
I too bought a leftover 2012 (build 6/12) two weeks ago which previously sat in a showroom. The suspension creaked and the rear wheel sounded like a bearing going bad. The service mgr went for a ride and quickly declared "lot rot". He said the noise was entirely the brakes. I was doubtful, but they turned the rotors on all four a few "mics" and now no noise. Good luck with your new car and I hope your dealer goes to bat for you!

P.S -I think my Bose sounds better now than when I bought it.

I have faith it will get fixed, then i will switch dealers. I do look the cx-9, it is fun and very smooth riding.

I also bought a leftover 2012 at the end of November (2012). It had been sitting on the dealer's lot for just over one year and only had 18 miles on it.

The battery was dead and wouldn't hold a charge, so they had to replace it. It also took three attempts before they managed to detail it to my satisfaction. After sitting for so long, the door jambs and the area surrounding the rear liftgate when it's open was very dirty. But they eventually gave it an appropriate detailing for a new car!

The only other minor issue was related to the tires after sitting for so long. They were "out of round" and the flat spots worked themselves out in less than 100 miles.

I've had it for just over four months and I love it! I also got an amazing deal on mine- sticker was $37,385 and I paid $29,706 plus TTT. It's a 2012 CX-9 GT FWD w/ Moonroof/Bose Pkg and Crystal White Pearl exterior ($200 option). I just passed the 6,000 mile mark and all is well....

Best of luck with getting your issues resolved!

Thanks for the kind works, the area rep agreed that the speakers need to be replaced in the dash and they are on order. I do love driving the Mazda, i just hit the 500 mile mark today.

Welcome to the boards and glad to see they are playing ball with you and not giving you problems.

Well Mazda stepped in and had the CX-9 fixed. They replaced the dash speakers and it sounds so much better. I also had the junk Karr alarm removed and had them fixed the wiring to my standard. I am now a really happy CX-9 owner with 900 miles on her. Thank for the support!

Well I just returned from the first road trip in the Mazda and it worked out pretty good. The vacation was 1100 miles round trip, I got 20 MPG and am happy. I think that the mileage will go up, the engine has just shy of 2400 miles on it, and it did not help having 6 people, maxed out luggage, A/C on, and 80 MPG most of the way. I had a friend drive half the time and he really liked the Mazda and was surprised of the pep when he had to put his foot into it. Now I just need to get it waxed again and ready for the next trip.

I just did a 700-mile round trip, 5-passengers & loaded with luggage, and A/C blasting the whole trip (driving from Georgia to Florida). About 50% of the trip was on the interstate with cruise set at 75-80mph and the other half was mostly 2-lane highways thru Southern AL and Northwestern FL. I averaged 18.7mpg average for the entire trip. Last year, my 2007 Explorer barely managed 15mpg under the same load and on the same exact route! And it only had the 4.0L "Boat Anchor" V6 (210hp)...God I hated that thing....anyway, the CX-9 managed 3.5mpg better and was so much comfier!

Well after 7 months I finally hit 5000 miles. Life is good and only major complaint after the first minor issues is a bad dealer. I did find a good dealer had had them do the first oil change at 4k.
