I am in need of a new clutch. It will hold fine at stock boost but at 10lbs it can't handle it. I want the ACT 6 puck clutch now. Anyone think this is a good idea. I know it will be harsher for the street, but I don't think i'll mind it. This sound good or bad??

i have a clutch master stage 3 its a nice clutch setup. not harsh and holds real nice!!!
oo god, i dread everytime i hear clutch master...... i pulled apart a saturn sc2 2ce cause the damn clutch masters wouldnt work worth of s***, finally we put a saturn one back in , works like a charm...

CM sucks in my oppinion , there customer sevice sucks too.. they told us it was the hydrolics, there clutches dont go bad.... we changed the hydrolics put it all back together, and what do you know it still doesnt work.. ..

^^Saturn isnt a Mazda. The are totally different cars. Go with a street disc. The 6 puck will kill your tranmission over time. The ACT torque capacity is 268 ft/lbs. Its enough to handle your 10 psi. Or the clutchmasters stage 3 has a 110% torque capacity over stock.

true , saturn is a pos , still it was a clutch master stage 3 that failed..

Prob a bad batch of clutch kits. Happens with every manufacturer. Or whoever installed it didnt do it right like machine the flywheel, new bearings, etc.

don't get pucked. if you need holding ability, get an act 2600 (xt) pressure plate with a full face disc, it'll hold more than enough and be much more gentle on your driveline

Do not get ClutchMasters. In the Honda world I came from, they always caused some type of problem.

ACT is what I recommend, and also a street disc (not puck) will be just fine as well.

I had a Clutchmasters only lasted 8k :(

I prefer ACT they make awesome clutches.

i too like act, but i had a clutchmaster on my probe and had no problems with it, not that i drove real hard or was making anything resembling a lot of power but just saying they're nto all bad

I have the Unorthodox sprung hub 6-puck and heavy duty pressure plate. It's way more clutch than my 250hp Protege needs, but I planed on racing it a lot and hard.

I wouldn't go too aggressive, it takes streetability away.

I did a 9lb flywheel and AWR motor mounts at the same time. My car is pretty shakey and loud with those components together.
