'new' 2008 5 touring

Hey all, I recently purchased a new to me 2008 Mazda 5 touring.
100k, 1 previous owner who had it serviced regularly at the dealer.

So far so good, although I just had to replace the front O2 sensor--what a pain. Threads stripped out and the hole had to be retapped.

Why are the O2 sensors for these so expensive?

Any words of wisdom I need to know?

Welcome to the club!!
O2 sensors are cheap if you buy on-line, I usually pay about $15-$30 depending on the car.
Local repair shops tend to add "1" in front of that price and Lexus tends to add "4".
