2021 CX-5 Touring Infotainment Black Screen

Recently bought a 2021 CX-5 Touring and we’re having issues with the infotainment screen going black. I had not read about this issue until we had the problem, and I see now it’s pretty common, but it seems to be happening on and off for us and I was wondering if anyone had dealt with that. Every time it goes black the sound still works, but the reset option using the mute, nav, and back buttons don’t work. I’ve also disconnected the battery and that seemed to help for a couple of days, but it always comes back. It will also work when I start the car but then go off while driving, only to come back on once I restart the car. Anyone have any thoughts?

This is going to sound like a dumb question, but is anyone setting any items in the console area? I have to routinely remind my partner to not put their purse on top of the buttons.

Right. Didn't they add a blackout feature around 21 or so?

No, not that I’m aware of. My son is the main driver and he never has anything other than his phone with him. What would be the issue with that anyways?

Holding the volume dial down turns off/on the screen.
