NEPOC Cruise to New Brunswick, NJ meet 4/17

yeah, its a pain in the ass in tarrytown, since all the detours..how about we meet at the palisades? that seems like it would make the most sense no? i think we'll be easy to spot due to the yellow and blue cars..palisades..how are you coming up to the tappanzee? know any good accessible places?

Do you mean the palisades mall?
We could meet at the palisades mall. I have never been there, but I know you can see it from right off the highway.

weee i have no clue where i'm going so yeah i'm really glad that there are going to be yellow and laser blue to guide me :)

well basically what it is .. They are taking 91 to 84 up in maine .. 84 will carry them into CT where they will get Ben you and I guess ne3ek(pat) . Then they will cruise to 684 and slew down to 287 west. Then get on 87 north and cross the Tapanzee bridge. I will most likely either meet you guys at the pallisades or intersect you guys on the highway. I know a few area's where I can actually sit and wait and then see you guys pass on the high way and maybe do a ricer flyby ..lol.. j/k.

Daymn that's complicated! I usually just take 91 to 84 to 95 south, thru GWB, and then onto NJ turnpike..

Mapquest mapquest mapquest... as long as you know where you're going, we can mapquest the times. Take a 15-20 minute break into account, though, in case someone needs to pull over to take a piss or get some gas.

no it's not complicated.
Thing with the GWB ,, if you take 95 south and go through the cross bronx, I gaurantee you will run into traffic.

Don't worry you can't get lost. Instead of making the left at the bottom of 684, you will be making the right and getting onto 287 west. That will bring you to 87 north which will bring you to the tapanzee. Super easy.

Yeah, GWB and Cross Bronx Expwy traffic sucks... also sucks the 95 south part from exits 9-10 to 7.

How much longer is that route vs. GWB?

It's not really a Question of distance, it's time. You save a lot of time by going over the palisades. But if you comeback that way you have to pay toll to go over the damn tapanzee, 3.00 $ vs 6.00$ to go over the GWB.
which is not that bad, but you get the idea.

Time savings is what counts. I really meant to ask time, not distance :)

Thanks, I'll try that next time I have to go down to NJ on my own. (mY parents live in Staten Island, so I usually take 95 south to triboro to BQE to Verazanno, but it could be faster to go your route to NJ pike and then take the bridge from NJ to Staten Island... forgot what it's called)

uhh staten island. shoot in the bronx we look at over there as a whole nother country .. That place is frigin far.
Yeah I think you could do that crossing over to 287 in jersey and then catch whatever hwy takes you to the GWB. I don't know if that would help or hurt you as far as distance and time. I haven't been to staten island since I was a kid.
p.s. You can also take 84 west all the way to 87, I think it is after the newburgh exit. ( we live in newburgh also(orange county)). Then run 87 down and catch the pallisades.

The run from 684 exit to the newburgh bridge is about a half hour, then the run from newburgh 84/87 exit to palisades exit (tapanz) is about a half hour.
Just watch out for the state troopers.

I'd hate to meet a girl out there...
