NEMOC Random BS Thread

The Porsches in GT got bigger engines and wider rear tires. Gee... I wonder why they did so well
I figured based on some of the interviews that Mazda gave up on racing against the Porsches early on. All they kept saying was "they are faster". I wonder if they will do something to balance out the field for the rest of the races in the season. Kudos to Dempsey racing for battling back and picking up 3rd.

I'm wondering if the thought ever came to mind about a new engine in the Porsches, and just waiting until they potentially popped. But at the same time, it is Porsche... like it's gonna happen...

They're usually pretty good about keeping the field level. However, I'm really curious as to what they'll do since Porsche pissed and moaned last year in order to get the engine and tires. They did give Mazda a couple hundred RPM...which did nothing. Homestead is next right?

And Joshie gets off easy again.... *shakes head*

Jezus. I'm running out of places to put the snow. I've already got 2.5-3ft banks on all sides of my driveway.

When is this supposed to start? I'm supposed to go skiing with coworkers at Watchusett tomorrow night.

to all you CT NEPOCers....whats your experience with fighting a speeding ticket here? It was issued by a state trooper (in middlefield if it matters) for 60 in a 40.

This is my first ticket in CT so i am not sure of what people have done or usually do. One person told me they got a ticket once and following a friend's advice plead not guilty and then when they went into court somehow offered to make a donation to charity instead of paying the fine/pleading guilty to keep the offense off their driving record...apparently the judge or someone said this would be ok but the donation amount was greater than the ticket or something. I had never heard of this before, any truth to it? My goal here is just to avoid having this on my driving record...im not super concerned about paying a fine.

If I plead not guilty does anyone know if I have to go into court once or twice? I know in NY once I had to go into court just to plea and if I pled not guilty they would have scheduled another date when I had to go in (when the cop was supposed to be there also). Do they do that in CT or do I just go in once and take care of my business?

What sort of argument am I supposed to present if I plead not guilty and it goes to court - assuming the cop shows up? Do I just say "I wasnt going that fast" and he pulls out his radar gun and proves me wrong? am I supposed to make excuses for why I was in a hurry? Or justify the behavior by explaining that it was a non residential road with no pedestrian traffic and no businesses and no crossroads that was about to turn into a freeway?

slug OUT!

Hey, guys, just dropped by to say hello and to give an update on a few things.

1. First off Tony, our prayers are with your family at this time, sorry to hear about your uncle.
2. The Mitty, for All NEPOC/Team Ohio members you are getting comped, free hat, shirts and admission. You will be assisiting in the organizationof the corrals. Each model will be grouped together, 3's, 6's, rotaries, MX-5's, etc
3. I have Mitty Posters, 2011 Mazda Calendars and a free issue of Grassroots Motorsports Magazine for those who subscribe to it.
4. Lime Rock Park Mazda Corral.

I had more meeting a at Daytona, than there were cars at the track. Well let me say that they were all productive and I am happy with the overall results!

1. The Line Rock Corral will be a charity event, we'll be supporting Patrick's Cancer & Hope Center and Team Seattle's Children Hospital. Grand-Am, Mazdaspeed Motorsports and Team Dempsey is on board. We will be producing a t-shirt with a picture of all of the RX-8's that helped lead Mazda to the GT Manufacturers Championship!

2. We'll have hospitality, with food and drink, live TV feed of the race and a Q & A with Patrick, Joe and Charles.

3. We'll also be receiving coverage from Grassroots Motorsports as well as Grand-Am.

4. We will be hosting similar Corrals at VIR, Semper Fi Fund with Freedom, Mid-Ohio with Team Sahlen, The Make A Wish Foundation, Mazda Raceway, SpeedSource, JDRF and so on.....

Looks like 2011 will be a great year, as far as I know, we are the first to do this, so come out to as many events as you can, lots of great prizes for a number of great causes.

Lastly, thanks for those who are getting the Piloti's, I saw the company founder, Kevin Beard, he was very happy with all of the kind words and the number of shoes being purchased!

Also, if some can get me the contact information of a dealership who would like to be a part of the corral @ LRP, please PM me the information, so I can share it with Grand-Am Marketing.

Thanks,
Marlon

Holy snow Mark!

Tony, I say this from my heart, love all you guys and family and wish you the best. When my wifes mother was ill, she to came home to be there for her final days. My wife stay with her almost everyday, including her final moments. It's a very tough thing to go through, but having friends and family for support really helps. Best you and family my friend.

Marlon, that's excellent news! Thank you again for everything and if you need help with the photos I sent for the shirt let me know.

Thanks for sharing this with us, it just goes to show you the trust and respect everyone has for each other. I can't say enough about NEPOC and it's members and how we've grown together in the past 5 years! I never forget to mention NEPOC's involvement in our corrals @ LRP. You all stepped up and lent a hand, with parking, cooking, etc., without even asking. Loooking forward to seeing you guys at more events and if you come to the big one @ Mid-O, I am sure that Team Ohio will bemore than willing to put up our brothers and sisters from the Northeast, Ifeel we are a truly amazing family.

Damn right brutha. Any NEPOC members coming to Mid-Ohio has access to the house. It's an hour and fifteen away, and not the most exciting drive, but it happens, and it beats paying for a hotel.

I also open my place, even though it's a small 1 bdrm apartment, for people to stay. Although that will change this year. I already have my eyes set on a place and my job is pretty secure. Just got word today that the industry portion of Honeywell that I work in is growing and rapidly expanding. yay!

might be dropping a class for this semester. really dont want to because i know the professor (also my advisor) will be disappointed in me. but no sense in taking a really hard class when its an elective.
