NEMOC Random BS Thread

Morning all! Lots of changes for the 8 in the next couple weeks. Thanks to Marc, I have some parts to install! Can't wait to get the coils in and see the difference. On Saturday I was driving around a lot doing errands and randomly when I tried to start the car it took forever to finally start.. smelled like fuel too so it was almost like I had partially flooded it. It was the FIFTH time I'd started the car that day, it was warmed up, and had no logical reason to do that. And the next time I started it, it was perfectly fine!! (screwy)(screwy)

Kyle - road trips??

Happy Monday again! Hope all enjoyed the weekend. Here are a few photos from mine. Photo shoot with a friends 67' Camaro SS, another friends custom built flathead powered dragster and his ol' dog Becky.

You two ordered the say wheels?

No... He already has wheels. He let me borrow his stock 8 wheels with winter tires when I popped the two tires on the MS6... I've been using his 8 wheels with my tires and my stock 8 wheels sold with the MS6. Need to do some swapping this week to get the winters back on his wheels and snag the TPMS sensors in the process.

Thanks Mark. It was an awesome day cruising ol' Cape Cod in that beast. Sounds mean as hell too. Almost every pedestrian we passed gave the thumbs up. He's going to come to some of the Bourne shows next year.

I have an air mattress and a basement if you want to crash at my place and head out on Saturday together. You'd also have your own bathroom upstairs to shower and whatnot. Matt and Alyssa did that before heading out to the Cape Cod run earlier this year. Just throwing it out there.

i will def look into that! i really still want to make it up to mass since there are so many more snow tire listings there and figure id be able to come home with something :D

plus i want to go into boston for some of the day

Happy Monday all.

Welcome back Mark. Looking forward to Sat.

Nice pics Josh. Beaautiful Camaro with the old barn door headlights.

Saturday was a great day for AutoX. Got to see Mike and Wayne perform.

Congratulations Chris! When are you moving out?

Had my first flat-while-driving yesterday... was driving thru the Bronx on the expressway and heard a whop-whop-whop, I'm thinking someone's got an exhaust leak. No, it was my tire... pulled over right by an exit, rolled off into a gas station. Couldn't break the damn bolts loose, the tech at the dealership impacted them on again! Thankfully, there was a tire shop across the street around the other corner, went over there and asked if I could borrow a four-iron or a 21mm with a breaker bar. The shop owner looked at me weird, walked out to my car with some tools. Had to end up jumping on the ratchet. One of the bolts was so bad, I ended up pushing against the socket/ratchet with my foot, while the dude jumped. Gave him some cash for his trouble and proceeded to mount my spare. Inflated the spare to 60.

Going to drive, not exceeding 50mph, home and put on snows.

Not sure why the tire failed... it deflated quickly, didn't explode. The sidewall damage is probably mostly from driving on it deflated for 50-100 feet. I didn't see any obvious nails. Saw a little pinhole on the inside sidewall, maybe that caused the pressure loss?

Maybe I shouldn't have been driving around on 9 year old tires either.

oleg, besides the bad looking tire...the rust is lookin good! wow....so you bring the p5 sat or the miata?

It depends on whether I will get to wash the Miata and get the cone marks off before Saturday. The Miata is recently clayed/waxed, so hoping to bring the p5.
