NEMOC Random BS Thread

But that's what you get when you name 4 daughters with names that begin with J.

Everyone in my family has a J name. John, Jeanne, Josh, Justin, Johnny. Sometimes my mom would just stutter and we would all come running.

Josh-what lens were you using for the air show?

Chris...A-10 is by far my favorite too. Obviously I've never seen it fire in person but just watching it on video makes me glad it's on OUR side.

For those who don't know, this beast fires 30mm rounds up to 70 rounds per second.
Yeah, the kickback is so strong that it slows the plane down considerably if fired for too long. Did you know the A10 was originally designed for Vietnam but didn't actually see combat until the Gulf War (v 1.0)

Morning everyone and nice bit of trivia Chris.

I've always liked the Warthog and does anyone remember the Cobra Rattler?

If it's far enough away when it fires you hear the bullets hitting before you hear the cannon fire. What a person on the ground experiences is a crazy hailstorm of bullets and then what sounds like the plane roaring...sends a frigging chill down your spine.

Thanks all!

We did get to hear it. I've heard them through video but never in person. Dayuuum that was crazy!

Few more from the air.

wow, slow nepoc weekend indeed...morning, had my grand daughters 3 bday yesterday. her expressions opening her gifts were priceless! she's the best!
tony, you going tomorrow night? LMK...thanks

Wow time flies.

Known issue.. that happens when they stick the high pressure AC lines directly above the engine.. heat soak... you can help it by wrapping it in reflective foil

(Points to my engine bay.) ;) Makes a huge difference.

Josh do you have a desktop size of the A-10?

Which photo and size?

Josh those shots look amazing, nice job!!!!

Thanks bro.

I was switching between lenses all day.

I was thinking how dangerous this must be...but then I measured the length of the jets. one is 10px longer than the other. Is it conceivable that this is in fact an optical illusion and their tail fins aren't actually 1 foot apart? Actually, scratch that. It is the case, just look at the shadows. The top jet should be casting a shadow on the bottom jet. Still an amazing feat either way.

Awesome pics and video Josh! +1 to the music in the background of the bombing demonstration(Silversun Pickups)

Man it's humid today, the thunderstorm we just had made it worse, too...

mmmmm just bought two ACs for the apt...

going to the cape tomorrow for a couple of days...kayaking in the ocean for the first time!

So, on my way back from the gym, I get forced into hitting a lowered manhole cover (Groton traffic/drivers aggravate me) and now I have this odd sound coming from the passenger side of the car.
Sounds almost like I have something stuck in one of the tires, but after taking the two passenger side tires off, I find nothing. So, I get the tires back on and drive around the apartment complex, noise is still there, still sounds as if something is stuck in the tire, but it's more of a squeak than something striking the ground. I have no idea what it is, and now it's too dark to take a look. Guess I'll be walking to work in the morning for fear it has something to do with the brakes. If anyone has an idea on what it may be please chime in.
I'll summarize:
Noise is repetitive (as if something is stuck in the wheel)
More of a squeak than a strike
RPMs and clutch engaged/disengaged have nothing to do with it.
Nothing hanging under the car (so no broken dangly pieces)

Blow Thru is Done.. only took me 2 hours to do it.. been running around all afternoon so i just finished up cleaning the engine bay after i made a super huge mess of it..

How's it running?

its a ******* beast.. instant throttle response, way more torque.. car feels the best its ever felt accelerating.. its not jerky between shifts at all anymore..no more backfiring or popping at idle, no more wierd idle after being at full throttle then coming to a complete stop, fuel trims are starting to settle out a bit.. i still have to scale the maf tables a bit more to get them just right which i plan on doing wednesday. i have 0 complaints so far, love it!!!.. everyone should be running this if they have a custom FMIC.. kinda hard for the MS3 guys, but i think you could run this setup with the PG kit.. and of course an OCC is something you'll definetly need too..

on top of that Cobb released the new Load Cap tables for ATR last week.. which is awesome as well.. that will be really benefical when i get my build going.

all of my above symtoms happened when it was cold out.. not so much in the summer months..

Morning all.

Great weekend. Left Friday to see my parents. Had a beautiful drive up thru VT and NY. Stayed overnight and then took my dad and his boat to my brother's and his nephew for the weekend fishing. Great time, we have 2 contests, most fish caught and largest fish caught. I caught 44 and my nephew bagged the largest, 4lb bass. Got home after dinner last night.

Some golfing this week and then off Thursday to see my daughters this weekend. Will be back on the following Tuesday.
