NEMOC Random BS Thread

Oh man! Went to the Extreme Beer Fest last night and just starting to feel human this morning. Hydrated like a mothafucka all day yesterday, drank a bunch of water after and throughout the night... can't imagine the wreck I would've been if I didn't drink any water. I promised myself not to drink after the beer fest, but we went to this Beehive place next door and had a couple of mixed drinks to top it all off anyway!

Some great beers yesterday. Dogfish Head Wrath of Pecan -- ale on pecan wood... Dogfish Head Black Thai, brewed with basil leaves. Allagash Bourbon Black was a stout aged in a bourbon barrel and was the shnizzle. Short's brewing had a bunch of crazy beers, Turtle Stout was really good, but they had Key Lime Pie beer (meh), Caramel Apple beer (actually great, just a hint). Weyerbacher had this beer called Idiot's Drool that had the craziest finish... like raisins and cinnamon, that lasted forever.

Drink some Pedialyte. It works wonders for hangovers and such..

Edit: This may or may not be from personal experience. I'll plead the 5th on that.

Was she there?

Oh yeah, one of the beers was this 14th century recipe, brewed only with yeast, water and grain. No hops. It was brewed only 3 days prior, was served on cask at room temp. So very flat and yeasty tasting. I'm sure this was another thing that contributed to some serious wind breaking.

Speaking of which, I love how movies portray those men/women in old centuries as these hot models and such, but when you really think about it....no real hygiene (ie.toothpaste, deodorant, bathed once a month if lucky, etc.), they ate some serious heavy gassy foods and drank the beer you mentioned, overall simply nasty conditions by todays standard.

I saw that video about a couple weeks ago at work... It made me die a little inside.

Fun time ice racing today. I got 4 runs in on the main course and a bunch on the practice course. First run I spun out toward the end but still pulled a 1:25. Second run I played it safe and got a 1:15. Third run, after the studded class went, I pulled a 1:07. Last run I lost my edge out of turn 2 and went wide and I think I ended up with a 1:17. Best times for my class were just under 1:00 so my times weren't great but I managed to improve.

I'll post video of my last run later.

My last run of the day. I went a little hot into turn 1 and lost my grip. Once you go wide the glare ice will take you for a ride. I went sideways for a while did my best to get back on course. Many people were just spinning out so I give myself a pat on the back for still making the next set of cones.

Awesome vid Chris!

I am looking into getting photoshop any suggestions on which one? Was looking at best buy and saw a combo Photoshop elements 8/premier elements 8 for 150. Should I get this or is there some other Photo editing program I should look into? Is paint shop pro x2 any good? Remember im a noob at this stuff.

Happy Monday. Sweet pics and vid Chris. Looked like a good time and you had great control. I know AWD helps, but on ice it almost does not matter much, right?

Oleg, I applaud your will my man. Oh to be young again. lol

Tony, It depends what you want to do with the software. The Elements package is good deal for its ease of use for photo/video editing. A good start indeed.
