NEMOC Random BS Thread

Looks pretty beefy for a van! my wife would like it! Shes been talking about new SHOES for the Sienna

She said the ride feels the same as her all-seasons and I know once the white stuff falls she will go from :) to :D.

They are 215/65/16's and I got them out the door from discounttire for $633. Not bad considering I was looking at paying a little bit more for steelies and tires from tirerack.

hahaha Zach! Not like that she just wants s nice set of wheels, something diff from stick I might just see about getting her some newer sienna alloys and throw snows on the ones she has now

Was that price with the new wheels? I checked their site and they didn't have any wheels for the Dodge under $149/ea. Final price from tire rack, including shipping AND including TPM sensors, was $1,129.05.

Yup....that was wheels, tires, lugs, hubcentric rings, valve stems, mounting and balancing and free shipping. Forgot, they were running an internet promo of $50 off a complete set of wheels and $50 off a complete set of tires. So with the promo and free shipping it was a no-brainer for me.

For anyone who has a commute along any of the metro boston highways, check out the following site. It provides a history of many of the failed highway projects in and around the Boston area. Many artifacts of these projects can still be seen today. An off ramp to nowhere in Somerville, a cloverleaf in Canton, bridges and roadbed in Revere. Had some of these projects been completed, the traffic problems we have today (including those that necessitated the "Big Dig") might not have been.

In particular, a corridor, nicknamed the "Southwest Corridor" was cleared to extend I-95 north straight into Boston. I-695 would have formed a loop around Boston linking I-93 the "Southeast Expy", I-95 the "Southwest Expy" mentioned above, I-90, Route 2, Route 3, I-93 north of the city, and the "Northeast Expy" beginning at the Tobin Bridge would have carried I-95 to Danvers.

It makes me wonder whether the projects would have been a success, and whether congestion along 128 would be better or the same.

Very cool, I am checking it out now.

i dunno i had some nasty chips on the hood and a small ding on the drivers side rear door.. on top of getting it done at no cost to me and learning alot the past few days all in all a good investment of my time i think..

josh i have not read the past few posts but will do.. i guess i gotta catch up on what i missed.

edit: saw pics of 2 tone rendering in the photo thread and admit defeat if ya do it.!! cuz thats seriously insane.. and would look badass in the sun.. if ya did it though, might want to add a touch of satin bronze in the engine bay and interior somewhere to make it complete.. not too much but a touch, too much of one color not a good thing.. hence my blue.

what ever happened to getting my car repainted? that s*** fell through quick and never returned

s***, they even wanted to drop a highway right in my back yard. It would have started near the coast in Nantasket, connected to where Ikea is in Stoughton (Rte 24), passed through Sharon (I-95), Walpole, Medfield, Natick (I-90), etc...

Wow.

Though I couldn't imagine if they came knocking on my door to tell me I have to move out because a highways moving in.

is there a NEPOC calendar of events for 2010 yet?

Yes, Josh started a thread earlier.

NY Auto Show anyone? ...April 2-11

Gonna be 40-45 degrees tomorrow...definitely giving the car a good washin'

Edit: wait...now they're saying 45-50 in CT...woot!

Supposed to be 43 here tomorrow. Going to take advantage of it and install the new front pads and stop by the mechanics to get the 'passed' inspection sticker.

only students are allowed to use the shop now after the 3 break ins we had a while back.. i could pull some strings but i dont want to get me or the professer in trouble.

i can repaint the car when i get my shop up and running.. im thinking of putting a paint booth in bay #4.. might not be a really nice one but itll do the job.. grand opening still set for june

my car was used during a lesson for all the students, then i decided to get some hands on experience myself, while being watched over by a professional of course.. currently its getting the corksport exhaust welded up completely, should be back on tomorrow.. painted the intercooler black today, looks better..

josh a quick question

how soon after ur black car was painted did u put wax on it.. i dont see the need with so much clear on the car to do it right away, but i figured id ask a detail pro.

So what Mazda paint code is this? (lol2)

the no (sleep) paint code.. seriously i didnt sleep for atleast 40 hours. and dunkin donuts was my friend
