NEMOC Random BS Thread

I'm gonna attempt a bike ride before turkey day...if not I'll attempt rollers haha!

I'm doing two turkey days as well...Thurs at my parents, Fri at Ryan's, eek!

Then a nice long weekend of writing a paper due on Monday...whoo.

I hope I feel better before turkey day..

I haven't been able to keep food down for two weeks.. I've lost 10 pounds already :(

They took blood on Saturday to see if I have lyme disease.

Wish ya the best Sean....maybe it's just the h1n1?

Morning All!

Don't ya'll know, orange is true JDM yo! ;) I like being different with my RX-8. With everyone changing something with their bumper markers, having stock is rare. Lol!

Sorry to hear Sean. I have a friend that has LD.

Doing double turkey days this year. Well....sort of anyway. Having wifes brothers over my house on turkey day, then going to North Attleboro on Sat. for a big Hanley feast at my old grandparents house. I say old because both of them passed away recently as some of you know. So this will be a bit odd, but at the same time nice to see everyone gathering around the table again as it has been many years since the last time we did so.

JDM or not, I hate orange markers. lol I prefer to have them clear or black depending on the color of the car.

Your dual turkey day sounds like a lot of fun. Saturday sounds like you will be re-living some very fond memories while making new ones.

Damn man that sucks.

That being said, I could use that issue. After the last 3 weeks in a hotel, going out to eat each night, I'm pushing my high weight record. ugh.

Want me to drop Jared off at the hotel for a week? He'll run ya ragged.

I would change them if my car was not red. Like I said it blends in rather than sticking out as if to say, "Look at me...I'm a side marker!"

oddly enough, had it been h1n1, I'd be done with it by now lol.

Then I guess I should say 'sorry to hear of your misfortune of not having h1n1?' lol Seriously though, wish ya well!

Good point and on the RX-8 they are more subdued but on the P5 the in-your-face black is better than the in-your-face orange. Just my opinion of course.

Thank's. Amanda's is a 2008 so this shouldn't apply to her.

Rotors came in. They left the box in the rain, probably because they were to lazy to put the 70 lb package back in the truck after lugging it to the door. Sooooo.... who wants to help me with a brake job, possibly this weekend, maybe Sunday. I don't think I'll get to painting the calipers. Its too cold.

I thought so too about myself.. When I started my weight loss regiment a few years ago, my goal was to go from 220 to 165. I've been holding steady at 180 for about two years now. Since the beginning of November, I've dropped to 168. There isn't much left of me lol.

I'm back up to 210 and I'm not happy about it. Two years ago I got down to 183 and my goal was 175. Shortly there after I was put on a new medication and POP, back up.

Haha, nah that's ok. I'm done in Pittsburgh for a bit. My boss pulled me back to the office.

^truth. I had H1N1 two weeks ago. The fever only lasted ~4-5 days but I was literally physically drained for close to 10 days. Actually...it was just like the regular flu. I finally had enough energy/motivation to get my fat ass back in the gym yesterday and it felt GREAT.

...except for my shoulder. I think my years of bowling, tennis and ice hockey (taking hits to the shoulder) is starting to take its toll. Shoulder's been sore for a looong time now. Icing it does nothing, no particular motion makes it hurt worse...it's just a constant nagging ache deep in my shoulder.

Hey Chris, if you're willing to come to Nashua, I might be able to do it. Let me check with Mary. But it might have to be Saturday.

I will be in Londonderry Thurs-Friday. Not sure if we are staying through Sat but I'll check with Amanda. If we are, I can swing by...if not, I can always make the drive again on Sat without her. I don't think we have anything planned yet except putting up Christmas decorations.

Looks like Saturday is good. Anything special about MS6 Brakes? Need any special tools? How about the rear brakes? How do you compress them?

i'll be out in NYC all weekend, so can't help you guys. but i have one of those brake caliper turning-in tools (a square that fits a ratchet and the caliper pattern). or worst case you can pick one up (or maybe rent?) from a store.

In this thread, the writer mentions turning the caliper piston to depress it. I think that is only for the rears while the front can be done with a c-clamp. Do you have a c-clamp bruce?

Apparently the worst part is that the rotors are fastened to the hubs with some rusty screws that may have to be drilled out. At the very least, an impact wrench with a phillips attachment will be needed.

The instructions talk about removing the calipers. I don't think we have to do that completely if we aren't replacing brake lines. In fact, I thought I heard someone say we only have to remove one bolt for the fronts and the rotor can be removed...we'll see about that though.
