morning y'all!

I think the front wheel bearing.. or a rear wheel bearing.. is failing on the P5.. again. Not sure yet, going to have to jack up the side of the car and take a look today.

Still eating the turkey leftovers this morning (happy belated thanksgiving!)

and started the process for a salt water tank!! Got a wicked good deal on a aquarium kit and went for it. There might be pictures of salt water creatures this weekend!

Great...now instead of killing one cheap fish she's going to kill a bunch of expensive ones.

Happy BDay James!

Sitting in the office today doing one of my MANY annual training courses. This particular one is an 8-hour online course...which means I'm going to burn through it in about 4 hours and have to babysit my laptop for the other 4 hours (Won't "pass" me until I hit the 8-hour mark >.< )

you packed the bearings, right?

Is that the cover for the headlight assy cover or fog lamp cover??
i think both. The glass didn't break but its pretty scuffed up. Unless they can buff out the scratches the headlight needs new glass. Fog light surround (the black part) was chewed up too so that'll probably be replaced as well. I'm going to call in a few days to see how things are going. Meanwhile I've got the Chevy Silverado Quad Cab from Enterprise to help with the moving.

i was going to go to get that jeep for my mom to give the grand daughter, but we realized yesterday that it was a stripped down version of the one she really wanted....so no black fri for me!
What exactly was missing from it? A/C? Heated Seats? sippy-cup holder?

NO 4 WHEEL DRIVE! can you believe it? :)

hAPpy BIrthDaY jimmy!

Congrats on making it another year Jimbo!

What is the fun in owning a Jeep with no 4WD? Good idea to pass on that one.

Speaking of new cars...almost time to buy one for my daughter soon. Hmmmmm....

the rears were sealed. the front left one is an SKF bearing that was installed professionally by a Mazda tech. he even talked about the importance of correctly torquing the axle nut. So he *should* know what he's doing.

If it's the front, then it sucks, because I bought a bearing in store, it's not a Mazda bearing, so unless it's clearly an installation failure (how to determine or prove that), I'm out labor cost, even if I warranty the bearing. Blah. Next time going w/ a shop-sourced part for that kind of work.

I work for SKF!!! Thanks for supporting my job Oleggo!

Repair estimate came in at $1679.98. Includes new bumper, headlamp cover, foglight assy. They are going to repair the fender instead of replacing it (not too keen on that, but I'll look it over closely when I get it back). Includes new clear bra too. Not bad considering my last accident was over $3,000 to repair the rear end.

That seems too cheap, especially with all the work to color match on VR. It cost me $1,800 just to have a scratch taken out of my passenger rear door from a shopping cart.

Car went in today. I also put on the snows. back to winter mode. Got a Kia Forte as a rental. Kinda fun.

I had a problem with one of the front bearings I replaced on the P5. There was a seal that goes on the bearing when it's pressed in. I didn't have that seal, so some grease came out, but more so other things got into it. Stupid mistake on my part. all 3 of the bearings I've put in have been Timken projects. Aside from the one failure, the other two have worked perfectly fine.
