NEMOC Random BS Thread

Morning all! There's a deposit on the 6.... Just waiting for the rest of the payment.

Good morning!

Congrats on finding a buyer for the MS6 Jenn!

Have fun and safe travels Bruce!

Oh snap! I was actually considering it when i got home from China if you still had it.

Thanks guys. I'm happy and sad at the same time... It's such an awesome car and I'm going to miss it.

There's always a chance this could fall through Phen. We'll see.

I hear that!

Looked at some jetski's this weekend. Almost bought a Honda with 2 hours on it, but decided we want to replace the two smaller boats with something a little larger (so we can ski and tube) first then look for a jetski.

Mark, what are you doing up at that hour??

Happy Tuesday all. and good morning

In a few minutes, off to Canada, back on Friday.

Safe travels Bruce!
I'm embarrassed to say, but I have never been to Canada. It's on my 'to do list' at some point.

Sooooooooooo straaaaaaaaange... Gotta get used to looking for subscriptions in a different place. It's no longer in the Notifications drop down.

Edit: Nvm... found it.

He wanted too much. Asking $7,500 with trailer, cover, garage dolley.

The brand new ones honda is selling now are the F15/F15x from 2009 (still leftover). I have heard that this winter/spring they will be offering those at a nice discount to clear them out....I know a dealer in MA that would work with you if you wanted to go that route. manchester honda wasnt very cooperative.

Thanks, but I think we'll end up going through New England Cycle Works in Groton, CT. My dad does their legal work and we have dealt with them for over 20 years buying bikes, quads, lawn equipment etc.

We really don't want the new stuff. I don't like the 3 seaters. I think they are the dumbest idea ever. We'll put it on hold untill we figure out the boat situation first and look again after.

Any trouble with your honda?

haha, yea...i let me neighbor drive one and he drove the 3 seater into the 2 seater at like 30mph. Awesome. Just getting the gelcoat repaired this week...

I havent had any problems (knock on wood) but I think hondas might be a little higher maintenance than some other brands when you run them primarily in salt. You are supposed to spray down the engine (especially the turbo and wastegate actuator) with a corrosion inhibitor before riding in salt. Some say after you ride in addition to flushing (some say with salt-away..some say this isnt needed) you should hose down the engine (mayeb with salt-away) and then re-apply the corrosion inhibitor once it has dried. I have been doing the engine spray before riding and flushing immediately after running them in salt with salt-away and I still have some small rust areas showing up on my turbo. all of this is preventative maintenance though to avoid rust. Mechanically speaking I havent had any issues and that seems to be the consensus online. They are slower than competitors but generally more reliable. I think half of the times I have been out in the ocean in RI this summer I have seen a sea-doo being towed in.

Its interesting between the R and the F how different the ride is (since they are essentially the same). Most of what I heard before getting them has proven to be true:
the R will porpise more...this is why it has a manual trim where the F does not (not that the F couldnt use one too)...but I have found this also makes it much better for jumping
the F is a wetter ride...
the F cruises more easily through chop. with the R sometimes you have to work hard to cruise over waves as opposed to launching off one every once in a while. (when going long distances from point A to point B the ability to just cruise is convenient)
the F is much better suited to having a passenger (2nd person)
the F can carry a lot more stuff...the hood on the R is tiny.

my friend likes to compare them by describing the F as a limosine while the R is a crotch rocket. In reality the difference isnt that significant but after riding in big chop for about 20 miles it sure feels like a limo if I swap over to the F for the ride home. Interesting to note that the R seems to handle a little better than the F...I have yet to do a 360 on the R but have done a couple on the F (sometimes by accident)
