NEMOC Random BS Thread

Well, the cop should have announced he was a cop in the first place yes, but the rider also has a responsibility to inform all parties recorded that the video camera on his helmet was recording..

as far as posting it on the net? im all for it.. itll make them scared to abuse power if they think they can get caught like that

No, I'm just saying we don't know the whole story.

There are bad cops out there, i have no doubt. But unless you are willing to put your life out there on the line, you shouldn't criticize how others go about protecting you.
I don't agree. Does that mean that unless I am willing to run for government office, I shouldn't be criticizing government? If a cop is rude to me for no good reason, then I shouldn't be criticizing that behavior just because I don't want to become a cop? You give regular citizens too little credit.

I don't think he shouldn't have to inform all parties. What's messed up is that Massachusetts is one of three states that has a two-party consent law, but there is a clause that says that it's not required in places where there isn't a reasonable expectation of privacy (which seems to make the law reasonable--I can't tape your phone conversation, but I can tape you in the street). In practice, when it comes to lawsuits involving the police, that clause is never respected (this is the messed up part).

Well.... Here is my take on the entire subject:

What I mean is that you don't know what situations the officer has had to deal with in the past that may bring their behavior into perspective. When you walk up to a car as an officer, anything can happen. If you tell the driver to stay in the car and keep their hands visible and instead the driver reaches over to grab something out of the glove box, 9 times out of 10 its the car registration. But what if you just pulled over a fugitive and its a gun he is reaching for. Are you going to wait to see what it is or are you going to pull your gun out? There is a high level of stress involved with the job and it deserves respect. I'm not saying you shouldn't criticize law enforcement when their actions are questionable, i'm saying you need to try to look at it from their point of view before you jump to conclusions.

+1

that's the reason any time I get pulled over, I put my keys on the dashboard, and I have all my documentation ready for them by the time they hit my window.

I usually get out, slowly walk backwards to the sound of their voice with my hands in the air. STOP. Laydown flat, never looking at the officer. Place my hands on the back of my head and interlock my legs. Then I wait for further instructions which usually occurs during the handcuff process.

;)

+1 lol.

I put my keys on the dash too and put my hands on the top of the wheel until he asks for my paperwork. I don't move until he's up to my car and can see exactly what I'll be reaching for.
When the cop asks me if I know why he pulled me over I don't beat around the bush. I tell him I know exactly why he pulled me over, tell him how fast I know I was going, and how there's no excuse blah blah blah. They respect that.

Been pulled over 5 times for speeding. 4 Warnings and a $25 seatbelt ticket (for going 85mph down I-91).
On the seatbelt ticket stop he actually told me he was cutting me a huge break because I was so upfront about everything (my registration was expired too now that I think about it...hadn't gotten the new one in the mail yet) and had my car pulled over before he even got out of his hiding spot and got his lights on.

You're soooooooooo lucky they didn't take your car.

Most the time when I get pulled over I have no idea why...

I've been pulled over for speeding once...the rest for exhaust or rear lights or just wanting to see who I was.

I got pulled over once because I had my fog lights on...or at least that was the excuse.

I feel so...alone in the world. I've been all over the place the last couple of weeks yet I haven't come across a single Speed or turbo Mazda anywhere...

Damn, it's quiet in here. lol

Soooooo tired. Yesterday I drove 203 miles (round trip) to meet a guy in York PA to sell Tamz wheels. On the way home, I got a call from by bro-in-law who said he had an extra ticket for the Phillies game last night. So I got home just after 1pm, watched KK open her presents and then drove to a friends. We all piled in a 15 passenger van and tailgated for a couple of hours before the game. We left after the 7th inning and stopped at a casino for an hour and then hit a local firehouse before calling it a night. I ended up crawling into bed around 1:30am.....

Time to move some rock..... I'll check back later for some OCC pics!
