NEMOC Random BS Thread

Did it once in a Boston tunnel and scared the wife out of her seat. Doh!

lol. When I first got my 8 my g/f wasn't expecting me to do anything "stupid" on her first ride. She'd never heard or felt 8,000+ rpm before...she grabbed the "oh s***" handle and braced herself like she was on a rollercoaster. I laughed my ass off.

P.S.- she drives a ford focus and never goes over 70 mph. NEVER

The Essex steam train is actually pretty cool.

It is...but I was on a job for 2 1/2 months in Chester and had to hear that f-ing whistle 1902395103 times a day(confused)

Edit: I love my job. Been sitting in my car since 8:30 because the contractor isn't sure if they're going to dig in a ditch full of contaminated dirt (I'm the environmental guy) because it got flooded with rainwater. So he's just like "hang around...I'll call you later and let you know what we're gonna do." Suh-weeeeeeeeet.

Vacation day today.... sweet! Got woken up by the oil delivery guy. Now I'm watching Kyle play ODST.

Yea, I've let the rear end on the 8 loose a few times in the rain. Luckily the DSC and my driving skills kick right in. Sure makes your heart skip a beat though. Did it once in a Boston tunnel and scared the wife out of her seat. Doh!

Definitely an adrenaline rush when that happens. Worst I have was when I was changing lanes to pass someone on the highway. I downshifted to 5th, changed lanes and began to accelerate. Next thing I know, the MSM decided that it wanted to go back to the lane it came from.

SAT: Let's change lanes

@Jenn: Much better! The old one looked like a Slipknot album cover. (I love slipknot)

Did you need to change pants?

My worst was driving my 95 Aspire in snowstorm on I78. I was cruising in the slow lane doing about 40mph and hit a pile of wet snow (caused by a tractor trailer changing lanes) and proceeded to do a 180 across three lanes of traffic. The car came to a stop on the shoulder of the fast lane where I believe everybody behind me had shat their pants. I collected myself, turned the car around and made the last four miles home with no incident. Thank God that everybody that day was using caution.

hey, im actually looking to buy an suv typish thing. been looking around at everything and was wondering about how you like your nitro? i think you ended up getting that right? i cant remember....long amount of pages ago. what are your impressions? i have about 5 different cars on my to drive list and was trying to ask around for peoples knowledge on each one. i read a few not so good things about the nitro and feel sceptical about it.

i was also thinking jeep patriot, nissan pathfinder, jeep liberty, honda element, gmc envoy. its for the wifey because she wants 4x4 or awd.

Look at Mazda, Toyota and the new ford line (edge is nice).

Dodge/ Chrsyler / Jeep - they probably won't even be around by the time you go to buy.
Nissan pathfinders are very cheap inside. Morano's are nice

Just my two cents.

wtf? how random is that? lol. go to the doc mane! poison ivy can wait to show its full symptoms....sometimes a week or so after!

so we did some huge car shopping today and it comes down to these three.

nissan murano, honda element, toyota rav4.

i love the murano, she loves the element, and we both like the rav4.

i think it comes down to the test drives on tuesday and thursday on which one we plan on getting. anyone have any input on these three for me? as a comparison anyway....weather related, awd related, drivability related. thankd yall.

My buddy has a murano and we trade cars all the time (when I need an SUV and he wants to drive a car). I like it.

Rav4 is a bit small for me. My mother looked at buying one and her friend did buy one.

Never liked the look of the element, but that all personal preference. I have never driven one.

I'll get pics up when I get around to it. Off to bed for now, "easy-as-hell" day at work tomorrow...getting a new cell phone too (for freeeeeeee(cabpatch))

So will you be able to text message like the rest of us in the 21st century?

Though it really doesn't matter. She's going to be in the garage until April.

Gavin and cousin sledding, making gingerbread houses, visiting santa and loves his new robe (wore it all weekend)! Was a busy weekend!
