i like them. my buddy had them on his teg GSR awhile back. really finished off the look of the car. im sure it would do the same for a protege.

got my vote.lol

Well so far everyones for them so looks like i well definetly be buying them. Now anyone think that 18's will be to big?

I hate to say it, but .. do a search. There are PLENTY of threads out there on the old 17-inch versus 18-inch debate.

I think you should buy what you like. If you're relying on us to approve every purchasing decision you have, your car is going to have very slow progress, and definitely won't turn out exactly how you want.

i decided to go with 17 and imo the car looks great. ill post up some pics hopefully by tomorrow. now the only thing is i want to lower the car but it looks like these rims with the tires are sitting a little wider than the stock ones and im afraid if i lower it the car the back end might rub up against the fender. after i put some pics up let me know wat u think.

How wide is your wheel, what's the offset, and what profile of tire are you running?

Chances are, if you got 17", you should be fine to lower at least an inch, if not two -- unless your wheels are crazy wide with a low offset. I have 18" x 7.5" and am lowered two inches all around without any rubbing.

sorry everyone but ive been a little busy. here are the pics with the new rims.

i believe it is 17x7 and the tire size is 205/40zR17 and then it is says 84W. Ya... whatever that means. im no car expert so hope thats wat u needed. tks.

that's hot. especially with the carbon hood i love it. Now drop it immediately you've easily got 2 inches!!

ya i want to but it looks like if i lower the back two inches i think im gonna get some rubbing with the wheel but im not sure. wat do u think? the rims are 17 x 7 and the tires are 205/40zR17 and 84w.

Pfft -- you'll be FINE to lower two inches.

The stock wheels are 17" x 7" .. and the stock tire profile is 45. That means the stock setup is THICKER than what you're running now. Not by too much -- but every little bit helps!

If you're worried about the rear of the car rubbing in particular, you can pick up a set of Tein S-Tech springs -- that lowers 2" in the front but only about 1.5" in the back.

But personally, I don't like that raked look .. So look into Eibach ProKit springs (I think that's about 1.5" all around, someone correct me if I'm wrong), or if you feel bold, get a set of Eibach Sportline springs (2" drop all around).

Then there's Goldlines and Espeliers (sp?) and whatnot .. Do a lil' research, I'm sure there's specs for each all over the forums. :)
