Can anyone shoot me a pic of their stock subwoofer wires? I just bought one from a member on here and the wires on his sub were cut and the wires on my car are cut. I think I have it figured out, but the sub still doesn't work, so I just want to make sure all the wiring is right before I start ruling out other stuff.

it should just be the multi cable plug for power, and a pair of RCA cables (white and red) in the input...that's it.

I've got 5 wires coming from the connector that came with the sub from promp3. From my car I have 2 yellow power, 1 blue with white chaser, and 2 black wires. The black wires however are double, meaning there is an extra wire and insulation inside each, one with yellow insulation the other with white. I also have a ground wire attached to the vehicle that has to black leads coming from it. There's quite a few wires here and the ones that are really confusing me are the black ones coming from the front of the car. Those were cut as well, and I think they were the L/R inputs. That's why I'd really like a pic.

Here's what mine looks like right now after I wired some stuff up.

I can take a pic tomarrow if nobody does it by then. My sub and headunite were stolen when I bought the car, so I also had to do some wiring. I got a different kenwood sub and needed to run the 2 RCA cables. Everything else was in good condition. If its not dark by the time I get home today, I might even get a pic up tonight.

If someone can tell me how to post the pic I'll post mine.. although i have no sub, got stolen, but the original wires are still there, uncut and all. I remember when i bought the car i had trouble with the sub, it turned out to be the one wire, i think the ground, that was causing it not to work.

When i try to insert a pic it asks for the URL... can i not post it from the hard drive??

when you hit reply, beneath the message box there is an additional options area.

In there click manage attachments. There you can upload a pic from your computer.

I finally got it figured out. The problem was that the blue/white wire was not connected to the headunit. I got a new deck and had Best Buy install it (since it was free) and since I didn't have a sub, they left the audio cables and the remote wire disconnected. I ran new audio cables since those were cut and spliced into the remote wire from the headunit, and BAM, I got bass.

Now a possible new problem though. Now that it works, it sounds like something's not right with the sub itself. The low bass sound and feels great, however, the higher bass sounds like crap. The sub almost sounds like its' damaged. I hope to talk to a friend tomorrow that does this stuff for a living and have him check it out. I'll report back.

With all the messing around with the wires, I forgot about the adjustment dials on the back of the sub. I remembered about them when my friend and I were checking it out and he tuned it in for me.
