i have a 02 p5 and is thinking of getting the mazdaspeed protege and trade mine in should i do or just mod my p5 i like both cars very much but if i turbo the p5 i think the msprotege would be more reliable since it is turbo from the factory.......

tell me what you guys think
 
I think you should use puncuation to break up sentences;) Alright, just teasin you. I would do what you think would make you the happiest. I personally wouldn't want to move to the sedan body style as I think the P5 looks quite distinctive, then again that bright orange is quite distinctive too :) Can you afford the added cost of the MS Protege? Can you afford the possibly higher insurance? Do you need the wagon body style for haulin stuff? Do you feel you need the extra horsepower and are willing to pay for it?

I personally wouldn't trade my P5 for one...but different strokes you know.

yeah you should do want YOU want to do since it is YOUR car...personally i would stick with the P5...if you do indeed turbo your P5 it would be a sweet little sleeper! stay tuned since M2performance is going to be releasing their kit...and M2 is a well known and reliable company...my bro is law has their rx7 kit which has been super reliable...surprisingly since the rx7 has a horrible record...but like i said it's up to you in the end...my vote is for the wagon though
 
What about the Bell kit...anyone have that besides WShade?

It's a tough choice...but as time goes on...the P5 will receive more and more aftermarket support.

Either way you end up with an awesome car. :cool:

Like others have said - do what makes you happy as long as you can aford it. But here's my 2 cents:

Personnally I like the looks of the P5 over the sedan - when I went shopiing I had both the MP3 in mind, and the P5, but whe I saw the 2 cars, it was the P5 for me.

One thing that would deter me on trading so fast, is that I will be bound to lose my shirt on the deal. The fastest depreciation on a car is the first couple years. I've got to beleive you will get killed trying to sell or trade so soon - but maybe you lease or have a special arrangement you can get out of your deal easily.

Lastly, a 200+ hp turbo is tempting, but will you need it? I mean for me, 90% of the time I can use most of the P5's potential. What I'm saying is, how fast do you need to go on the street? You have enough speed to get you in trouble now if you try really hard, right? If you plan on racing on long tracks, well then that's different. Street, and short slalomn racing, I don't think you will gain that much.

thanks for the info guys, next time i will not try to type to fast and confuse the heck out of everybody. even when i read my own post i was like err.....
 
I don't want Mazda/Callaway's extra tuning...
they did a great job setting up a chassis for custom tuning and I've begun to tap into it..from here on out, my mission is to make a car more streetable (faster, smoother)
then the MS protege..haha..
although, the LSD tranny would be nice...
I'll see you MS guys with a turbo'd Arctic White Mp5 in 2 years
=)
