Need opinion on these wheels...

I am on the brink of making a huge decision for my car.

I really dig the white on gold wheel look but im on a tight budget. I need two new tires bad, because of the rare size 215/45/18 they are $141 each for a cheap korean brand :-( ( i think kumho is korean...

Discount tire wants $330 to replace, mount and balnce 2 tires.

OR

I can sell all 4 of my wheels/tires for $500+shipping and buy these wheels with 4 NEW tires with a MUCH cheaper tire 225/40/18

I have a 10 spoke gun metal wheel on there now (came with the car)

What should i do??

you can go up to a 225/45-18 and spend about $115 per tire, or go down to a 225/40-18 and spend about $85 per tire. the 225/45 will be only slightly taller, and the 225/40 will be only slightly shorter. also, the width change will be minimal. to me, that would be a better option than just tossing new wheels at the car.

I was under the impression since i have AWD it would put a lot of strain on my drivetrain to have mismatched tires...

if you are worried about a mismatch, why would you consider only replacing two to begin with? replace all four, and forget about the rims.

Agreed. Forget wheels, and get all four tires.

After doing some searching on google and car domain i decided two things. Those wheels are ugly and to heavy.

Ill shop for 4 tires - 225/40/18's Then Ill craigslist my 2 good tires for $50 each or something.
