I just purchased a 2015 this weekend and today we notice that the red car silhouette that normally shows a door open is always on (even with the engine is off).
the trip computer is not visible or responsive to the "info" button. Anyone have an idea what this is, can not find anything in the owners manual.

The red door open light will come on even with the engine off. On my car the hatch needs to be closed HARD to make it go off. I don't know about the trip computer.

Fdew,
Thank you that was it. It takes an amazing amount of force to shut the rear hatch enough to turn of the warning indicator. I assume it will loosen up over time.

Congrats and welcome! I've had to shut mine a couple extra times also. I wonder if this is a trend?

It should not be that difficult to latch a properly adjusted rear hatch. Early on there were some problems with latch adjustment. Maybe the problem has returned. Make sure you are giving the electronic latch time to reset (listen for the reset click) before trying to re latch it. Otherwise it will fail to close time after time.

the trip computer is not visible or responsive to the "info" button if you mean the trip odometer it is controlled by a knob near the top

The owners manual has a wealth of good information in it. :-))

Yep, unfortunately I found nothing regarding the indicator being illuminated when the doors are believed to be closed. There was no indication other than the warning light that the door was not properly closed, no road or wind noise, no rattling, and it felt closed.

No I meant the millage and such. If the open door warning indicator is displayed the rest of that panels functions do not operate.

I had latch issue when I first got my vehicle, then it worked itself out. I think there may actually be a TSB about it though, something to do with adjusting the rubber standoffs. You might even be able to adjust them yourself.

Yeah, I haven't had many issues, just a couple of times. May have just been me, though. Thanks for the heads up!

The door open indicator could use a little more contrast for the rear hatch being open. Obviously, the doors are very clear, but the rear hatch indicator is just a little brighter red than the rest of the symbol, and can be difficult to see.

In my 2014 CX-5 there is just one light I checked the electrical manual (PG 179) and there is just one light.

In the daylight, I could not tell that the rear hatch are was lit, it all looked the same.

I guess if the red car symbol is there, with no obvious door being displayed as open, then it's the rear hatch that's open :)
