OK, So I was taking my g/f out tonight and we were going downtown just cruising in traffic well someone goes to merge in front of me and I brake to let them in and when I go to get back on the gas nothing. The engine is dead, so I pull off to the side of the road and try to crank it nothing. I pop the hood and I'm looking around nothing smells hot or there are no visible signs of anything wrong. I disconnect the - terminal on the battery hold the gas for a few minutes to reset the ecu. Hook it back up and try and crank it again, well when I do the car turns over but will not crank. The wierd thing is that temp gauge shoots all the way up past the H, but the radiator in no hotter than usual. So I got it towed to a local shop here, I was thinking about going and pulling some fuses tomorrow and because I couldn't see s*** and it was to noisy on the side of a highway to hear if the fuel pump was on. Anyone got any suggestions at all?

Thanks

well i just talked to rich on aim and he was very insightful and gave me something to try. he said it is probably the ecu fuse in by the drivers door, so i'll be going to check that but anyother ideas are welcome

in some cars, if the ECU detects the engine overheating, the ECU will turn off the engine until it cools down

hope this helps

yea i don't think it overheated cause you could touch the radiator and it wasn't really hot. so i'm hoping it is the fuse.

to reset the ecu, u have ot disconnect negative terminal and hold the brake pedal for 10 secs not the gas. u could try that.

i think i did that too, but whatever i did it worked cause the CEL i've been having is gone.

well i just got my car home, the problem was a fuse under the hood for the injectors! i believe i know what caused it to and it was my fault. so my $60 dollar tow fee led to a $2.12 fuse. i got owned.
