Background:
2003.5 MSP 95K mi.
1600 mi on Rebuilt stock motor, Stock everthing.
Added Boost gauge and AEM wideband
New font O2 sensor
New NGK's
New Wires
Boost leak checked and verfied
Cleaned EGR and IAC (idles much better!)
I bought the car with a blow motor, spun #4 rod bearing, and rebuilt it. When I pulled the motor apart there was a ton of carbon on the tops of the pistons, so this could have been a problem before I got the car and totally unrelated to the new engine or anything I have done. I bought it from a dealership which knew nothing about it other than it was blown up. The guy that owned it before me (found his name on the title) hasnt responded to me except once, (on facebook) when I ask him if he owned a blue MSP, and he said yes, but never answered me when I ask him if there was any other problems with the car other than being blown up..
Put the car back together a couple weeks ago and can't seem to figure it out.
When the car is cold (ie not up to operating temp) it will boost fine at 6 psi and run ~12s afr... All the way up to the time the car hits full operating temp (half gauge)
When its up to operating temps the car will go 10.0:1 anytime in boost and is pretty much undriveable. I am not new to turbo cars at all, and it really seems like its a MAF car with a boost leak, but boost leak check came back clean up to atleast 10 psi.
NO CELs
My latest hunch tells me to pick up another EGR Boost sensor, but im not 100% sure thats the issue. If this is fualty, would it just hang the egr open and create a internal boost leak and send pressure into the exhaust? This would show unburnt oxygen on the O2 but shouldnt the O2 throw a code? The old o2 sensor was burnt and threw a code.
I would like to try a different MAF and MAP but there is nothing local that I can swap with...
Anyone seen this before?
