I doing my homework and I see that there on more then one hitch of cx-9. Which one to pick and the best fit? That's the question. I saw that one local dealer installed the brand (Draw Tite) and it looked like a tight hit. I see video for the installed of the Curt unit and it had one extra bolt per side then the Draw tite one.
I going nuts(hippy), on which one to pick. Which one do you have?

I don't think anyone sells 1 1/4" hitch for CX9 other than Mazda.
I didn't find one when I was in the market for one.

After-market ones all have 2" openings.
Among them, some use pipe, others use square tube. Stylings are dfferent.
Some use more bolts (6) than other (4).
All are powder-coated.
I have the Hidden Hitch, class-III.
Don't be fooled by the name. It is in no way "hidden".

After reading almost all the posting on this site about CX-9 hitch I finally decided to go for u-haul hitch. This is the same as Valley hitch but OEM and rebranded by u-haul.

Here's the link for the instruction on Valley by etrailer.com:

If you look after the model number on the instruction there's another number 78223 this is the model number that u-haul is using.

Heres U-hauls site and search for Mazda CX-9 http://store.uhaul.com/Hitches you will find on their web site the part number 78223.

If you don't mind having u-haul sticker on the hitch and your application is just for bike rack I think you can save money from u-haul.

Mine will be install on Wednesday, for CAD$204 including tax and installation I think its a good deal. I don't need to worry about shipping and they will guaranty the installation too.

The only thing I don't have right now is the information about the wiring diagram for the hitch wiring connector located on the driver side tail part of the car. I hope someone with original Mazda hitch wiring can post a picture showing how their hitch wiring is connected.

But in your case I guess you don't need it because you just want it for bike rack.

I bought a factory becasue I already had 1 1/4" accessories, and I like the hidden look of it. I bought it from a guy who had towing but needed a 2", so he swapped them and sold me his factory.

That's why I asked what size he was looking for. Also, no point buying one with a flat 4 bracket if he needs a 6 or 7 pin, either.

I should be able to get under there this weekend sometime and take a look. I'll have to look for your other post to see exactly what you're asking for, or you could just reply to this post....
