NEED Elec HELP ASAP!

is it the Carbon fiber ones? im sure he didnt do it on purpose. the only thing i can think of is that the sender didnt have any protection on it so it could have gone bad like if you leave an o2 uncovered and touch it? i dunno, im out of ideas.

Yeah they are the CF ones but all i have is Boost/Vac and a new EGT...Sorry man just keep trouble shooting till you figure it out...BTW you ready for the right side vent gauge pod yet...I think you need more room for another gauge!
Matt

MAtt, what gauge is it specificly?
I'd like to get a lok at the owners manual.
Technicly all the sender does is change the mechanical pressure read into a voltage, so if the sending signal wire is somehow picking up voltage from somewhere, that could be whats spiking the needle.

I can'f find the damn install maunal for it. If anyone can link me to it I would apreciate it.

My concern is that the directions say the light has a white and black wire, not a red wire.

The onyl good thing I can see is tha tth gauge is warrenied for 12 months. If it isn't older then that, get it back to the original owner and have them get it fixed for you.

im going to try to "jump start" this gauge pat, but i realyl dont think it works. another reason i suspect it is the gauge isbecause the oil and boost light up real well - the fuel gauge only lights up from say the VERY top, 10 oclock to 1 oclock position. we need to start thinking about how we are going to work this out in the event that this "jump start" doesnt work. that gauge is like 200 bucks.

dude, every gauge lights up different. I had that same thing. My EGT gauge is even darker color. I don't know why. Dude, the gauge works, I know this because i tested it before I shipped it, and it read 39psi on idle.

so you suspect the GAUGE itself is shot because the light bulb isnt the exact same brightness?

honestly matt you got a deal and pat doesnt really owe you anything.... i sounds to me you wired it wrong the first time and shot the gauge yourself.

Matt, if you like, send it back to PD or to me and I;ll see if I can get it to work.

I think it was wired right, I'm just waiting for him to reconnect the wires for him to get it to "recalibrate"

Once it does, it will read perfect. You have to wire it so it will see a signal, then keep touching the wires and then the needle will zoom to 0 and it will start reading.

im about to "jump" it right now. but it has been wired and hooked up correctly. possibly damaged in shipping is the only thing i can think of if this isnt it.

dude WTF.

i have never heard of "jumping" a gauge before, but sure enough, it ******* worked. instead of having everything hooked up and then starting the car, i simply had two sets of live wires, one from the gauge and one from my W/B.

i started the ******* car and hit the pairs together, and NOTHING. i was like FUICK, that was my last hope.

then i started sending morse code with the pairs - the gauge went BRRRRR bang bang (the needle hitting 100-0-100-0) then boom, up to 43psi.

pat, i must admit, i was doubting you, but now i know if i have a problem, i just simulate those heart attack paddles and i may be all good.
