Need advice: Exhaust and Intake

So I'm almost 100% sure that I'm going with the Racing Beat exhaust and I just wanted to make sure that no cutting or welding would be needed for this installation.

As for the intake I'm still undecided. I'm pretty much down to two options that fit my budget. Trying to stay under 200$.

1) AEM short ram intake

2) Simota cold air intake

I don't even really know whats the difference between the SRI and the CAI, So I'm up for any suggestions or tips.

=D Thanks for your time

The RB gets a lot of good reviews from other members so you won't be disappointed. Just be sure to get the hatcback version as the sedan is 4" or so longer.

Only cutting that you may have to do is to get your old exhaust off (depending on where you live) due to rust.

As for intake, I have an AEM SRI and like it and also picked it up used here on the forums for a big discount off of retail. If money is tight you can always buy an intake off of ebay and then buy an AEM/K&N filter. The tubing is pretty much the same but the filters are garbage.

Good choice on the exhaust, the racing beat sounds badass.

as for intake,
short ram intake meaning its sitting basically on top of the motor and can sometimes get really hot meaning less power.
sri looks like this

Cold air intake goes down by the wheel and will pick up colder air and doesnt get heatsoak but you can risk sucking up water but i hear its really hard to do. a CAI looks like this

It's not hard at all...I had mine as a CAI and nearly hydrolocked the motor from sucking up water...

As for exhaust...I suggest a custom Speed3 setup, but that is just me...I have an AEM CAI converted to SRI...

ive been told its easy to do and hard to do idk.

my dad ran one on his p5 for 4 years no problems. i guess it all depends on where you live.

I would just say put your money towards an MP3 ECU upgrade from SpicyorangeMSP, intake and exhaust are generally a waste of money for the minimal gains you get.

Agree 100000%...Intake and exhaust are for sound and show.

Ebay intake does just as good as a 250 injen intake imo you will save allot of money, just being honest with ya i paid 26.00 bucks for it , willing to sell ya for 20 bucks shipped,

Unfortunately that is the life of a P5...although with the mods I have done it is an extremely fun car to take off road...lol...

i'am prob just going to go back to stock intake with a k&n drop in filter and sell the sri for like 15 bucks+ shipping any one wants it pm me for details, going to go back to stock intake its brand new! any takers i'am just going to get a rear sway bar and change out my factory p5 cd player and get a new set of p5 headlights and new hids and then pay my car off...

I have a brand new Weapon R short ram for my P5 that no longer exists, it came in the mail the day after I wrecked it.

Hey thanks for all the help and advice. I'm pretty sure that I'm going with the RB and Sri setup, just wondering what do thoughs mp3 ecu cost.

As everyone already mentioned, intake and exhaust will get you maybe 3-4whp. But they sound great. The Racing Beat is a great choice in exhaust, very well made and great for daily driving. And I would go with a SRI too, I've hydrolocked my old Civic once with a CAI. And bare in mind if you go eBay, you're buying cheap stuff. Not inexpensive, cheap. There's a difference. Granted there are some great parts for sale on eBay but when you buy cheap s*** it will break on you. But an intake is pretty much all the same if you go AEM or eBay. The piping is very similar but the buy a quality filter if you eBay. I just prefer to spend a little extra cash on quality brands so I know that the part will fit correctly, assembled/welded correctly and won't self destruct after 2 months.

But the MP3 ECU is the best bang for your money. However it only works on manual transmissions FS-DE's and you need to run premium fuel. But it certainly is worth every penny.
