Hi

I just got my new CX-5 this week. I love it. Still working through all the how to's. I have the GPS and I was wondering how to listen to music while getting navigation instructions. I thought the music would cut out for the vocal instruction but it didn't and I could hear both.

thanks

Don

When the nav gives instructions it will "take over" some of the speakers and the music will be dimmed a bit. If you adjust the volume while it's giving directions that will change the volume of the voice. There's probably an option in the menus to adjust the nav volume but I don't remember where it is. As for the music, it never fully turns off during directions.

Hey Don, congrats and welcome to the forum. The nav instructions come from the drivers side front speaker and it does cut off the music from that speaker. The music remains present on the other speakers. There is a separate volume control for the nav. You can access it from the navigation's setup or use the volume knob next to the command knob while the nav vocal instruction is being given (at all other times that knob controls the sound system volume). Hope this helps.

Paul
