Antoine thanks for the support, are you ever on in the U.S?
Yeah..SoCal will always be home...just happen to be living in Japan at the moment...this is a really cool idea and another take on the national event idea...a rally would be a great way of the people coming to the people instead of everyone trying to meet at one place.

Steph, this would be a great way to promote the community to clubs and peeps across the states!<O:p</O:p

wow, i was just thinking how amazing it would be if a little idea that started here became this BIG. a rally/meet to this magnitude would definitely be something that i think people would want to sponsor. this site rocks (rockon)

i'd be down for this....ecept i'm on the east coast....now way am i driving out to LA just to drive back to NY........i would meet in the middle tho

I would be down! Only thing is that we need to make it in like the beginning of the summer(late may) so i can go. otherwise i will be firefighting and i wouldnt be able to go. Maybe we should start a thread of who can go and best dates?

after some serious thought, im not sure i would drive all the way to cali and burn up a week of vacation time in the process. i would, however, like for the people that do to make a stop and we could have a huge meet somewhere near chicago.

Of course everyone is going to have some sort of conflict...but these nationwide rallies have been going on successfully for all sorts of automotive enthusiasts...no reason why we can't make it work...we just have to find the most practical date and stick to it...either it works for you or it doesn't...

i am up for it... u need sponsors, people who are gonna be dedicated for this, u need entry fees, u need to set up hotel stays, mention that u could have at least 20 to possibly more than 100 people show up and watch the discounts roll in, hehe... u have to pass word to law enforement that a rally will be going thru so u dont conflict which scheduled events in the state, whether it be a parade or another car group doing something to a school trip... numbers for flatbeads and cross country haulers need to be listed and discounts given, hopefully, so people cant truck their cars over there... if we are gonna do this we are basically reping the mazda community so this has to be done right... i would be up for this provided that this gets planned properly... if this goes right, u could combine video and photo shots onto a dvd and sell it... lol but yeah anyways... im up for it, but theres alot of prep needed... pull out a map, choose highways that run thru interesting parts... or better yet... get that map, find the region that has the different car clubs, find the highways that roll right into it... when u have like 50 cars rolling down a highway, u dont wanna lose 10 of them due to bad directions so maps will have to be printed... the clubs will need time to set up, the finale will be the biggest party of all so that definitly needs preperation... what else... how about for now... those clubs that are willing to host this start posting up right now so the basic layout of the route can be planned? once that is settled then the planing for events can take place within each club...

HQ is here...Mazda Forums...I'd like to back this idea with the help of our official event coordinator extraordinaire Steph!

ATTN: SpicyMchaggis

In fact I'd like this to be our first official Mazda Forums event! If that’s cool with you…I’ll move this to the MF event forum and we can start laying the groundwork.

Let me know…

Steph is running the start point show, she can't participate in the actual rally, but she said she was cool with setting up a good start point. From there out, lots of planning needs to be done. Just needed to see how many people wanted to be involved with such an undertaking before I got too excited..Haha..I may not have the protege by the time the rally comes around, but thats neither here nor there..I'm definetly running it. I'll start looking into distances for "stages" and hotel set-ups and locations. I'll look into some group discounts for different regions for transport..BTW..Its cheaper if you get like 5-6 cars for a big car transporter rather than a flatbed..I shipped a Trans-Am from here to washington state for about 450$.

And MTMA would of course help with the last stages and the huge meet at the end. Assuming the whole shebang is still wrapping up in NYC.

sounds good, this is just an idea, but it dosnt have to be a straight run, like go to the different areas that the different car clubs are in... can we get a map where all the clubs are at tho for now? lol

ok, post which number ur in, that should help us plan out a route, we can go up and down diagonal and whatever... yeah anyways... just post give a name and number and what quadrant of said number ur in...

example: Mazda Enthusiast Club; Quad 3; bottom middle

that was an example, i'll let one of the VP's or the president or founder actually post MEC up ther for real, that was so people have an idea what i am trying to accomplish...
