Nashville Area Speeders?

I never listen to music when driving the probe as the sound made by the KL with a JJ res test pipe and straight through exhaust was music to my ears. I will miss that sound. You say the MS intake doesn't add volume to the engine sound? Does the Mazdaspeed intake have to be installed by the dealer to keep the warranty intacked?

There is a Mazdaspeed meet at Rough River State Park in Ky the weekend of June 21st and 22nd. I will be there that Saturday but will probably not campout. Rough River is an hour drive north of Bowling Green so I'll go up and drive back that night. Maybe ya'll could come.

You can only hear the intake when you spool up, and there is no engine noise that comes out of the intake. And the engine isn't any louder, if anything it seems quieter. Tim said it didn't void the warranty if you install it. He did both of ours, if ya get one, he said he would help you install it. IF the meet is still on tomorrow, and your there, maybe you can hear it.

I NEED TINT...LOL

Are all the intakes warranty safe or just the Mazdaspeed? The Cobb SRI is cheaper but I don't like to see the filter on top of the engine. It looks tacky to me. I have read that it doesn't matter when it comes to the power gains with the CAI vs SRI. I like the hidden look. How much does a MSCAI cost and where is the best place to buy? I'm hoping that the snow cancelled the meet in Murfreesboro today and that they hold it next Saturday. I will be able to make it if it's next Saturday. We have 6 inches of snow this morning so the Speed 3 will stay in the garage all weekend.

Scott.

I think it depends on the dealership your taking your car to. I know for certain Nelson Mazda at Hickory Hollow where I bought my car and the MS CAI ($315.00) would only warranty the CAI if I bought from them and had them install it. They DID NOT like my CP-E TBE exhaust and told me they made the appropriate notes in my service records. So they are not MOD friendly at all.

I have just ordered the MS CAI from Protege Garage. $309 shipped. I hope it gets here in time to have it installed next Saturday. I don't intend to do any additional mods, so I should be in good standing with the dealerships. I do worry a little bit about doing anything to my brand new car. I have read mostly good things about the intake but read one that said his car felt slower with the MS CAI, especially at low end.

Will Tim still help me install the intake? I hope to have it by Saturday and will be in Nashville then. I would drive down to Manchester after my race if he would be available Saturday afternoon. It would make me feel more comfortable about doing the mod to a new car if I knew it was being done by someone who knows what they are doing. My race is at 8:00 am and I could leave Nashville around 11:00 or 12:00 at the latest. Manchester looks like about an hour and half drive from Nashville. Let me know and I will understand if he does not want to do it or have the time.

Tim said he would help you Saturday. And it is only an hour max from Nashville to Manchester. Unless of course you run into a traffic jam. He said to pm him on probetalk since he hasn't registered on here yet. That way you guys can set up a time, get phone numbers, and directions.

WOW, DieHard runner huh? I normally just run because my boss tells me to (ARMY), or have been known to jog 3 or 4 miles at home in a valiant attempt to keep myself in shape as I get older and older. Actually, this is my first official go at a marathon. I am only doing it because I was injured in afghanistan and was told I would never be able to be fully physically active again...**** him!! Im going to finish this run and am raising money for an organization that helps deployed and injured soldiers as well as their families back home. I dont care if it takes me all damn day. This is just a feather in my hat for a really good cause. Who knows though, i'll probably end up addicted to marathons. LOL!!
check out my link guys and pass it along if you'd like.

Thanks Guys!

I'm addicted to running but not marathoning. This may be my last one because it's so much work training for them. I wanted to run Boston one more time, so I ran a qualifing marathon at Huntsville, AL in December.

I try to run almost everyday but I've been busy with the new car and the weather has been unfriendly. I'm suposed to do a twenty miler this weekend But the snow messed up Saturday and I worked today and just got home. I'll try anyway and may get close to twenty.

If you need any help on the install, let me know.

On a side note, the resister/heatsink that you have to remove from the frame and install on the intake seems to be located about 1" further back on the '08 versus the '07, making the install slightly tricky. The rubber mount that screws into the front hole makes things interesting.

MS CAI Install Help.

Tim, I ordered the Intake from PG Saturday online. I called them on Monday and Ken said I should get it before Friday, so I was hoping you would help me install it on Saturday. I'll be in Nashville and Manchester is just a little bit farther. I could be there around 1:00 pm if that is ok. If so, then PM me with your address, I'll Mapquest it, and your phone number incase I get lost.

I just posted about an up coming meet. Hopefully it won't rain like on the last one that I cancelled.
