My wheel FELL OFF - BC coilover failure

Oh dear. So now it's a race on my car for the BCs to fall apart after running over a twig or the Rotas to burst for no reason.

WOW, i feel bad for you. A stock blown strut would have never broke like that. POS. Stay way from BC...thats not acceptable. The welds failed. Doesn't matter what condition the strut was in. The welds shouldnt have broken...You should get your money back!

"First off your a sack of s***!!!!!!!!!!!!! I just talked to tim over at bc racing about getting something for my car and asked him about your situation because i was sure he new about it. Well why don't you tell the real story about what happened because you were not honest with this forum. THE REAL STORY IS HE HIT A BAG OF CONCRETE LAYING IN THE ROAD!! AND AS TIM SAID YOU TOLD HIM YOU WERE ******* MOVING WHEN YOU HIT IT So I just ask you not to put this propaganda on this forum no one has time for it! Go rot in hell"

I dont know who is lying here, GFish or Tim from BC. I never talked to Tim, so my story was screwed up somewhere along the way.

Update: I sent in the old broken equipment and never received any money for towing or money to go towards the $1000 I paid for the set.

Man I got BCs and also live in Chicago. FWIW, I would never run these coilovers at full still on these streets lol. So you sent the coilovers back to BC and you haven't recieved any sort of compensation? I would just get on the phone with them, its easier and they have good customer service over the phone.

GFish is a ******* idiot in my opinion. Never in the life of me have I seen a shock physically fall apart from hitting any size bump.

Rather than debate the issue, have them explain how their shock completely fell apart because you hit a bump. Whether you did or not isn't the issue, the issue is that their piece of s*** shock body blew apart.

Your worst mistake was sending the product to them prior to having a third party look at them. Now they can toss them in the dumpster and claim they have no idea what you're talking about...which they probably will...then GFish will make love to them.

SO this is a YEar + later.....What was the result?

I dont frequent the forum that much so I really couldn't keep this thread updated. I originally had this thread locked to see how BC would resolve the issue and what the investigation would lead to before more speculation could be made in this thread. At that point I really didn't care what the reason was, all I wanted was a portion of the purchase price plus the cost of towing my car which they agreed to pay me but I had to return the components. After I sent the parts in, I never heard from them or received any money. If they feel like they don't need to address this issue, all I can do is voice my opinion and inform the rest of the MS3 owners(and the rest of the car community) of the potential damages that can occur with BC Coilovers. I think the pictures illustrate where the component failed and that it wasn't in any extreme use. Blowing a strut and the physical failure of the same strut are two very abnormal and serious things to happen after 11 months of use. So for an answer as to what the cause was, ask BC. I don't know how much I would trust the answer that they give you though.

you said that before in post 19 of this thread. Do you have any more info on what happened in your case?

dude
you should have followed up with a call the week after you sent the parts in...and ask for your money.
you need to stay on top of it, in a professional manner of course.
I sold my BC's cause I wasn't going to track my car anymore and have no need for coilovers for the street...but 1k is a lot of $$ for me.

wow really. ive never heard of this happening to anyone else. how did your situation play out? warranty? other damage to car?
(shocked)

no warranty,
it only messed up my tire since i had to drive it to get outta the way.
cut up my abswires and all that good stuff

i've ran my bc's for almost to years now, no issues...and believe me, the roads around here are not very nice!

^
the part that matters is that BC isnt backing up there products at all. even on a major failure. why would i spend almost a grand on some coilovers, when i know the maker will ignore me if i have any issues. no thank you. i was trying to figure out if i wanted BC's or another set of Ksports. my decision has now been made. lol
