as far as i know I had the unrevised LSD. I dont know the difference really but I was told that they only put the revised ones in when the first one broke. I chose to go with the Quaife b.c I didn't want to have to worry about how the new LSD would act. I know the Quaife was good so I just went for that.CustomMSP said:Alright great! It looks like you had one of the revised LSDs in your car from factory?
If you don't mind my asking, how much was the Quaife? Also, is there a very noticable difference in it's performance over the stocker?01Se_to_03MSP said:as far as i know I had the unrevised LSD. Yeah I started wondering about this yesterday. Is there any preventive measures we can perform (like getting it welded on) to keep the LSDs from crapping out?spacemonkey said:I have a question....
If we find a shop to weld the LSD together (instead of the 3 spot welds) will that solve everything? Will Mazda do it for me since it is in their best interest not to have my LSD crap out because I will raise hell on them?
Im really considering getting the dealer or some local shop doing it. If I get a local shop Im afraid Mazda will say some bulls*** about voiding my warrenty because im trying to save them the trouble in the future and for ******* this up in the 1st place.
Will welding the LSD solve this problem. Or is the stock unit as a whole is the problem? Or how its installed/welded on.
Your stock one doesn't seem to have the springs like the original one did http://www.msprotege.com/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=1793301Se_to_03MSP said:as far as i know I had the unrevised LSD. I'm going to have mine welded back together all around. I'm pretty happy with the stock LSD as far as performance. Hopefully it'll work out fine welded. I wouldn't suggest anything like that to Mazda though...somehow it'll probably end up turning agains you.spacemonkey said:I have a question....

It's kewl. Thanks. I'm not sure if this is a very common problem. I guess it depends on how you drive and such.Mark94 said:Sorry to hear about this A, I'm dreading the day that mine decides to crap out on me (hopefully that never happens since I'm not hard on the car at all and never drive it).
If you need any help, let me know.
