My TTD build thread

Filled in the holes in the trunk from the stock spoiler and painted the new one to match the car:

Also had to redo my seat back brace because I lowered the seat about 3 inches.

Don't be too impressed, the back brace is an IO-Port part. I just moved it and cut the pipe shorter.

The seat mount is custom. I made a frame that is welded to the cage. Pictures here: http://www.breesmotorsports.com/10Season.html

Sorry, the impressive part was losing 3" off the seat height (not that the brace was modded haha).

I totally forgot about the frame... yeah, that'd get it pretty farking low :)

Anyone have comments on which one of these looks better?

Why did you add more weight? Class restriction?

Yes, my classing is based on power to weight ratio this year. So I have to be under 180 whp and over 2760 pounds with me in the car (so car has to be about 2565).

Good news, corner weighting is done; bad news, I found a fuel leak while putting the car on the trailer so no dyno tonight. Hopefully I can get it fixed before BeaveRun this weekend.

Total weight with 5/8 tank of gas and 200 lbs in drivers seat for me and my gear and about 140 pounds of ballast = 2765

Front Left: 820
Front Right: 791
Rear Left: 598
Rear Right: 557

Cross Weight: 50.2%
Front Weight: 58.2%

What sort of a leak did you find? Hopefully it's something that won't be too hard to fix.

I wish I was in OH and had nothing to do cause I would definitely come out and see that protege tear around the track once or twice. Best of luck with all your races this season (thumb)

Looks like the top of the fuel pump. Hope Mazdaspeed has them in stock.

I wanted to ask you this, but figured out that you'll probably do that, since you pay atention to details ;)

Looks really good man. I hope you find your part! Seems like things
always happen right at the last minute!
Saturday I'll be in HPDE and Joe will ride with me. He said I should be
able to move up into the TT class after lunch. We'll see. I'm new to
NASA. And I don't have a current competition license.
Can't wait to meet you. Oh and the wheels. I liked the bottom
picture better. But thats just me.

My pump got here yesterday, but the heads of all the screws stripped out because they are so rusted. Luckily Mazda was able to send a new tank overnight even though I missed the order deadline by an hour (Thanks Mazda!) so I should be able to put the new tank and pump in tonight and be ready to go.

Good luck with your check-out ride. Looking forward to seeing you there.
