My Spool Intake install

Yes the hose around the hole is just hose I had laying around....it's just 3/8 inch hose I split in half, no adhesive needed.

03.5msppsi - "looks good! You should have looked into the injen intake its a much better design."

Yea and the injen is OVER twice the cost. I got my intake for $100 SHIPPED!

What do you guys think of the sound?

injen CAI does not make the car slower, the ECU has to adjust to it, that is why its slow when you put it on and start driving it. it takes a couple of days for it to adjust

Looks good.
really likin the walmart paint job!

I got some custom pipes on the way(still waiting on my flange) theyre just matte aluminum now, but im sure they'll get painted up before long.

Sweet, I used the TEXTURED paint. It says it across the can. I also understand the have HAMMERED finish also. Home Depot had all the colors.

spool intakes dont come w a hole for the sensor? whats the deal w that ? wont be buyn my intake there since i dont own the tools to make the hole myself

otherwise i like how it looks custom with the welding

You do not need to drill a hole. I have my temp sensor laying here.

It's between the FUSE box and shock tower.

*lick*

But even if I were basing this solely off that video and not real life experience, you *barely* hear any hissing at first as it's sucking in air and then it gets louder and clearly audible. My setup is audible as soon as you accelerate and the BPV/surge/whatever is quite audible even at highway speed in other cars as some friends have told me.

That's cool. My wife already doesn't like the sound....any louder and well....when you guys get married you'll see :D :D

Here's a shot of my lil elbow before I cleaned it up. I've since found a sleeve & clamp in place of the electrical tape and I've positioned it a bit higher. Works A LOT better in that location.

Also, II-Savy, look at the location I mounted the coolant resivoir. I don't see why it won't work in your case.. I'll take better pics tomorrow.

Oh, and for the coolant tank thing, the first hole on the metal bracket has a nut welded on under it. We drilled through the hole with a slightly larger drill bill so that all of the thread on the nut was gone. That way when we tightened it, it tightened into the well and not that nut.

Yea I messed with my collent tank, here's a pic:

I made a new bracket that was much smaller. The stock one made the tank stick way out touching the fan shroud. It looked kinda cheesed. Also there were nuts welded onto the back of the stock bracket that limited it positioning.
