The only two options that were available for the MP3 were the alarm, and the cargo net. And the alarm is really good. It has perimeter sensors. If ANYTHING opens, it goes off. As long as you have the sensitivity turned up.
about the alarm. It is that cheesy one that goes off when say you lock yourself inside and decide to get out without unlocking it with the key fob. I know Ive done it before, just to see if it worked and to be annoying. But I dont really understand why it didnt go off for them. I think I will do some bitchin to Mazda.
Oh Kool D, I do have pics of my gauges that I painted But I hadnt gotten pics of the rest of the yellow accents in my interior before this happened.
just a few q's about your car, first i like those gauges where did you find a company that made stuff like that, I have seen speedhuts page and they had nothing for our car. And second your car is an MP3 right? I thought they had silver accents on the seats, are they just not visible in the first set of pics or did you change your seats. Just curious, I am bored and had nothing better to do than to ask. Thanks
Mike
Can anybody give me a better description on where that sensitivity knob is? I just went out and was lookin for it but couldnt find it..a picture would be nice too..
if you look under the dash, theres a black box, it also has a blinking red led on it. there should be a white knob on it, right for more sinsitivity, left for less. pretty simple.
That sucks. If you find out who did and need some, umm..."help"... just let me know. I'm not too far away.
To comment on some earlier comments:
The MP3 headunit is a regular Kenwood unit so it will fit in any car.
No MP3 came from the factory with an alarm. Many dealers installed them, but some dealers thought the cars had alarms when they really didn't. The confusion came from the lack of info given to dealers from Mazda. They said it had everything the ES had, plus. Of course, the MP3 was missing cruise control and the alarm.
f**kers at mazda!
Maybe I was remembering the alarm that I had on the ES.
Why the Hell would Mazda Put all of that expensive sound stuff in a car without an alarm? Its just like an invitation. "Hey come steal my s***!!"

I guess not. but I could have sworn up and down Ive set it off before. But again this is my second Protege so I might be wrong.
I dont know. im too distraught right now. There is about two feet of snow outside between me and my car!
I know how you feel man...my sympathy goes out ot you. I got stripped of my 7" flip out last october. They got the bastard though. I went to court and won...$1500..i wish you luck
Dont think that they will catch the SOB. Thats just my luck!
I just thought that it was funny that the Cop finger printed my car..didnt get anything and now my s*** has black powder on it. Oh well. When it goes into the dealer to get fixed, they will clean it. Thats all that matters. But I will probably be cleaning glass out of my seats for ever!!

I with you D-babe I want to go look at my car and see if theres an alarm but theres fifty feet of two foot snow to walk through to get there. So I think Im off to find my paper work and hope that the panic button on my keyless entry just doenst honk the horn at people I see trying to get in it.
Yeah, when I got my ES, I realized that the factory keyless entry was not an alarm system. The CODE alarm system is an option from the dealer. I wound up just getting a Hornet add on alarm and it has served rather nicely. People in MD suck....When I owned 2 RX7's, both of them were broken into and one theif left a piece of the screwdriver broken off in the drivers side door lock. Sorry to hear about your car and hope all goes well with insurance covering it....that's why I got a $50 comprehensive deductible. Between break-ins and vandals, you need it....thank god my house has a garage.
