When researching on timing belts and pulleys for my KL I've read many reviews that the OEM pulleys are metal and better than the plastic pulleys that come in most aftermarket kits.

does that mean the pulleys in the Gates kit are plastic? I would like to know if anyone has examined both OEM and Gates pulleys to see any differences that could/would affect reliability.
