Also, I don't get the whole "get your aftermarket s*** insured deal." I understand it's important if someone steals your car and your insurance company has to pay. But his insurance company is paying!
I think what he's trying to say is that the other guy's insurance company will only pay for the stock parts on his car, not any aftermarket stuff...I think?

Yeah that's what I meant my bad (hand) thanks Whitemp5seattle.

Another ignorant SUV owner who thinks he/she owns the road.

Anyway, wish your body shop do a good job fixing your car and not like those assholes I ran into.

That doesn't make sense, because his car wasn't stock! If you have the receipts, present them to your insurance company and tell them you want it the way it was.

I guess we now know to keep receipts and a photo/video log of any significant mods we invest in. You would think in this age of modding, insurance companies would ask if you have any mods on your car -- I guess they just don't react very quickly to customer trends. But they're sure quick to b****-slap you with a surcharge if your record isn't clean.

When my protege was hit they payed to fix the aftermarket stuff too and i had no reciepts.....the stuff was on the car and damaged, they don't need any other proof than that. They even payed for the labor to put the stuff back on. What insurance company do you have? Your insurance should pick up what his won't pay, thats what its for.

Sorry to hear...

SUbscribing to see the rebuild pictures...

Get a Radiator form AWR and some new CF For the front. You might be able to get the insurance to pay for the "Stock Prices" and pay the diference for the new s***!

man i feel a neck pain!! dont YOU. all that pain is relieved by a boosted mp5 with cf hood and new radiator...

sue him man, he will settle for sure, make sure you put everything you can on the bill to sue him, and he'll prolly settle for somehwere around 75% of the bill...which would benefit you..include the parts his comapny wont' cover

Well guys here I finally got to uploading the pics (sad1)

I talked to the guy at the bodyshop and he gave me some good news and some bad news the good news is the car is totally fixable and the frame is entact so it's not totalled by any means and he promises that the car will look awsome. He also said that he will see about the CF hood I might have to pay the difference since the stock hood is only like $330 and I talked to him about the other parts and he said that I would have to pay the difference if the aftermarket parts are going to run a lot more than the stock parts.

Now for the bad news he said since I did'nt get my CF DG motorsports Grille insured before the accident through my insurance company they are just going to give me what a stock OEM grille cost which means the $220 grille that I had on there is now worth $31.75 so there goes $188 bucks down the gutter. He said that anything that I get on there that's aftermarket that I make sure and I get insured so that if another accident happens they will fully refund me the money. Good thing I did'nt have a whole DG CF front end or something like that because I would have flipped out and snapped. He told me that the insurance will not cover anything that is aftermarket w/o being insured. This hits me hard since I did'nt know this, I thought that the insurance company would just make a note after the accident of the value but they don't. He was telling me about this guy that came into his shop a month ago with a scion and he made him custom lambo door conversion which ran they guy like $3,000 and he told the guy to get the doors insured and gave him the bill but they guy did'nt listen a 2 weeks later he got into an accident and the insurance company would only cover the cost of the stock doors. The drawback insuaring all your aftermarket stuff is that your insurance will go up since your taking what the car cost and raising the total value of it.
i better get some ******* insurance on that s***.

Yeah, that is kinda like my bf tails when he got hit. They gave him factory and not his aftermarket ones I got him for christmas. He isn't too upset tho, cause he likes the JDM's better then the others he picked. Plus the garage gave him a red pearl glaze on top of his black paint which should have costed him money out of his pocket, but didn't. So that was cool!

wish you the best of luck with the insurance company. I got hit head on in my 91 integra and the insurance company only wanted to give me like 1350. well my car had never been in an accident until then and the paint was all original even the damn windshield was original. The one thing that he, the asshole that hit my car, didn't know was that the day before the accident I had just graduated from the Police Academy so need less to say I was able to work around the whole deal and I walked away with a check for 4035.00. So I say all that to say don't settle for less the insurance companies are at your mercy. Again GOOD LUCK

Those pics made me want to go to the range and shoot some guns, Its a good stress reliever.

Deja vu

That is the same exact thing that happened 2 my friend. He lost his '95 Millenia a few months ago. The guy who hit him was those heavy type construction p/u. The p/u blasted thru a stop sign. Thing is, the p/u guy lied his ass off cuz he was on the clock w/ the company vehicle. Witnesses said the p/u blasted thru the sign; while my friend had the right of way being on a main street; however, now the statements have changed making matters worse. My friend was not speeding either going about 25-30 mph. My friend ended up getting a replacement, but it's not the same. He ended up picking up the entire tab cuz of that lame ass. If was me, I'd b sueing; however, my friend has no mula being a college student. BTW, insurance claim 4 my friend quoted the car a total loss. Honestly, 4 that kind of stupidity, I'd b making sure the truck guy got his ass fired and made him pay back 4 damages and injury because my friend ended up having whiplash and other muscle injuries. Made me deja vu 2 when this lady rear-ended us on the freeway as she day-dreamed. Our Protege was sandwiched. She shoved us into the p/u in front of us. We were only going 30 mph due to traffic, she creamed into us as she pressed the gas! I think the total damage came out about 3-5k of which the repair shop did not really fix s***. We are also still suffering muscle damage from an accident that happened over a year ago. Sometimes I can't even lift my left arm. Thankfully, the lady admitted she hit us and we were able 2 claim. 10k per person on injury and 10k on property damage. Go figure. 2 very diff outcomes. I hope u win your claim and u don't need a lawyer. U can do that yourself if u got a mouth. Good luck.

Well here's the *update* the shop said the car was done so I went there and I drove it home but I decided to double check to make sure everything was fixed correctly. What do I find the duchebags at the bodyshop ****** a whole bunch of s*** up.

Here is what they ****** up on:

both my headlights are scratched to s***
the bottom grille was never replaced instead they put on the cracked and broken one from the accident
the radiator support looks all crooked and ****** up
I'am leaking coolant because they ******* patched up my coolant resevoir all ghetto style
my hi-beams don't stay on
my licence plate was not replace and it's bent to s***
my neon tube is cracked and they said it was going to be replaced
Also a couple more things here and there...

Well I called them up and took the car over there, they were like oh man ! we so sorry (blah) (blah) I was like if you don't fix my s*** up right then I'am taking my business elsewhere so the fight continues. I'll have to wait and see what happens and see if they fixed everything correctly this time around.

If it is an insurance claim, make sure u take pix of what the repair shop did. Record any transactions u do w/ both the insurance company & repair shop. If the repair shop did s***, make sure the insurance co. is notified cuz they will or should get on the repair shops ass because the insurance co. is paying 4 these bogus repairs that were "phantomly" done. If people continuously complain about that repair place, eventually the insurance claim guys will take the repair place off the list of places 2 fix insured cars; which means no money 4 the repair shop & a bad rep. also, u may need 2 keep asking the insurance co. 2 get moving. A lot of times they wait 4 u 2 complain b4 anything is done hoping that you'll give up and do the repairs outta your pocket. There's something on msn.com or something about chasing after insurance companies &/or the repair shops.
