My new MAF setup + extra pictures

Oh yeah, I read the thread you started about that. Good luck with Altered Atmosphere. Let us all know how it turns out. (thumb)

Hey good news I installed the unichip and it runs great...no problem with the maf or the SRI. (I hope i havent spoken too soon, but the first ride was awesome...check out my other thread for the update...oh and my AFRs have been better than they have ever been with this unit!)

"Blow through" MAF setup will also alow you to drive your ass home if you blow a coupler and have massive boost leak....this is one of the biggest benefits of moving the MAF in my opinion. You just drive home a lil rich in NA mode.

Whats that between your Air filter and BPV. the black box with the 3 hoses comin out?

does anyone have any life expectancies for a maf if you do this mod to move it? really thinking about doing this by thurs!

(bump)

Check mine out!

Want more pic's, just ask!

I dont know if your engine bay looks the same but if it does you might want to relocate the coolant tank and extend the air filter closer to the side of the engine bay to utilize the vent-hole there for colder air

theres a quite a few members that have been running this set up for a few years w/ out any issues.

I'm waiting for the turbolife fmic kit to come in, then I guess I have to cut those beautiful black pipes:(

^the factory pipes? or do you have the sls pipes or the SU pipes? I feel the same way, i just laid down $395 shipped for turbohoses from their website and am going to cut a section of them out :(

^im not even attempting to do this myself, i already cut the top of my little finger off in january using a pocket knife as a screwdriver(thank god for stitches, surgical pins, and nerve rejuvenation; i got the top back!). I think ill take a pass on dangerous tools for awhile

Oh no, not the factory ones...I have an ES Pro w/ the msp turbo. I'm gonna have to get the cold pipe cut for the MAF and the bov:(

Whoa, that sux...I'm not doing it myself either. I gotta find a good performance shop in my area to get them to do it.

^im gonna have agile automotive performance in fallston do it, i am waiting on a phone call from them to confirm they can do this

I have a fmic on my car now and I was thinking about getting some more pipes fabbed up depending on how much it's gonna cost.

Hey that's awesome! Congrats! (thumb)

One slight correction, I put the air-straightener/diffuser back in my MAF and now the car runs a bit better with better gas mileage. I still stand by the MAF relocation, but DO NOT remove the plastic mesh in front of the MAF.
