I went to Auto R&D on Wednesday and got my JIC SUS cat-bcak installed...I must say, it is awsome:) When I take off in first gear, it growls beautifully...It's sounds perfect. I didn't really notice any gains, but then again, I'm still running stock boost and I have my stock DP...
Here's the part that sucks...
[rant on]I went there expecting to get the Kartboy short shifter installed as well. On the way there, a CHP motorcycle cut in front of me to catch this guy that was speeding. Well, as he switched into my lane, he kicked up a rock, and it cracked my windshield. It's almost exactly opposite of the last one I cracked. This one goes from the lower drivers side, up about 8 inches, and to the right(now about 1' long). I called my insurance co. and they said as long as it was less than the length of a dollar bill, they would replace it free. Well, when it happend, it was. By the time I got to Auto R&D(about 30 mins later) it was about the length of 2. I'm out of luck...It is mine to pay for now...Then to top it off, I had to get my new tires, so I don't have any money right now...I can get the windshiled for $190 though. Whenever I get some cash...

this is what I really want to know.. when you are at WOT and up there in RPMs does it sound ricey? And what I mean by that is, like a giant weedeater/bumblebee...cause I really hate it when the exhaust is loud as hell but the car is slow as hell...

I can't say...On the MSP, it is almost silent from inside the cabin at WOT. I have a CAI on my car, and seriously, when I start to spool up, the intake overpowers the sound of the exhaust...in a N/A car, it might sound different, but this is my first turbo'd car, so I'm not sure if it's just the JIC, or the turbo that makes it quiet....
I'll have a friend drive it tomorrow, and I'll get back to you on the sound from the outside. This is a very high quality exhaust system though, and I don't think it could sound ricey at all.

so this is a designed cat back? what is the pipe diameter of this exhaust?

It is probably quiet because turbo cars tend to be quiet anyway. but tell us some more info.

But suck on the windshield

alex.. come take me for a ride. -=) give me a call when your out an about the sac area.. i wanan check out the ride.

Not sure of the pipe diameter, but I think it's 2.5"...
Its is a cat-back designed for the Protege sedan, but fits the MSP. The only thing is we have a lip on the rear that touches the muffler tip. Sean from Auto R&D installed it for me, so I'm not exactly sure what he did, but it looks like the stock hangers are still there...The Kartboy hangers actually brought it closer together, so those won't work.

well if you dont think so at all on a turbo car, then I cant see it being too much louder on an NA.. I also have my intake modified, and its loud as hell when I go under a bridge and give it a little gas. I'll probably end up buying the exhaust. but after I do some other stuff first. thanks for the info.
