My HPDE Pics (MSM)

Just thought you guys might enjoy some pictures. This was my first HPDE, and I had a blast. The MSM does remarkably well on the track. Yes, I found (and exceeded) the limits of my stock suspension and the Nexen N7000 tires, but for a 100% factory-equipped vehicle under $25k, it truly was a joy to drive. I had an amazing experience, and now I know that my MSM can hold its own on race day... Note the cars I'm running with in picture #4, my competition consisted almost entirely of Vipers, 'Vettes, and high-powered Mustangs.

Cheers!

Its ok to have junky tires. Having R-comps can mask your mistakes and doesn't teach you how to control your car at the limit. You can get a lot smoother with those Street tires. they will let you know when they are about to go. Good pictures nonetheless

+1.

Very cool pics, indeed. Miata's + a track = good fun. I assume the dust on the car is from a "farming" incedent. ;) I'm glad everything turned out ok.

Cool deal man, glad you had fun. I don't see a roll bar, am I just missing it or did they really let an open car out on track w/o one??

I don't think you have to have them in HPDE1 or 2. If I remember correctly, in 1 you have an instructor and in 2 you don't, but neither allow passing except on the straights. It's definitely about leaning your car. I've seen a Toyota Sequoia and Bentley Continental GT in HPDE1 when I was working the NASA races at PIR a couple years ago. You were racing at Firebird, right Outkast? Damn, I miss the desert
