My First Catch Can Draining

Sorry, I thought it was "premium". That's what I'm switching to at my first change. It's priced better than the Mobile-1 and performs well from what I've read.

I think I'm going to buy the Husky can and run my own tubing. Can anyone tell me what size tubing I will need since I'll be routing it a bit out of the reach of the stock tubing.

Has anyone fabricated a mount for this? Or should I just get a piece of aluminum and bend it in a vice/drill?

i dont know how im going to mount mine but im sure ill think of something once it warms up. as far as tubing goes your going to want vac tested hose. use a fuel hose from napa. i wouldnt suggest buying the homedepot clear hose becuase it WILL collapse after a while. its under constant vac pressure so even if it works for a few months eventually it will give. i cant remember what size it was though. maybe someone else could chime in. your best bet for tapping into the pcv line is cutting the hose thats already there and adding a connector with your hose so you dont have to work way up at the pvc nipple. i made the mistake of taking the whole thing off and it sucked.

the breather shouldn't be subjected to vacuum... its connected to the intake, which aside from the filter is open to atmosphere. unless you guys have a completely different breather setup than a traditional one that is...

does anyone know of a "how to" to install one fo these. i thought i saw one at one point, but i cant seem to find it.

easy....ill write you a quick how to right now.

the pcv is under the intake manifold to the right looking from the top. its a green plastic elbow with a black hose coming out of it. its about a foot long hose that connects back into the intake manifold on the left hand side. pull the hose off is you want to replace all the hose...if you want to add another pcv inline to the catch can you only pull the intake manifold side off. either add your inline pcv to the existing hose while adding another "x" amount of hose on the other side of the inline pcv to where you want your catch can to be mounted. add a hose to the intake manifold side "x" length to where you catch can will be mounted. add the lines to the catch can and voila! catch can installation guide. lol. unfortunately the easiest/only way to do this is from underneath the vehicle so hopefully you can get a lift or at least have some sort of jack stands/ramps handy. you wont be unsatisified with this mod when you see/smell what comes out of your car.

alright so a catchcan can prevent harmful stuff to getting in your motor. But is their any way to clean out that stuff if its already their. And has anyone felt that thier car runs nicer with one of these, or is it somthing you wont realy feel?

seafoam

Corner hard, how much oil are you down at change? It looks like you have probably a half quart there. Granted there may be some fuel in there as well but either way...

auto parts store. stuck it in with a vac line, and I put a lil in the gas tank too. I don't put it in the oil, but some do.

and MS3er will have to tell you what line to use... I used my vac block so that it went in the booster line.

use the booster line that runs into the intake manifold. when you open the line youll hear it sucking tons of air. i bought mine at napa.

the only reason your car will smoke if theres gunk in the motor. i run only shell 93 gas and put on a lot of highway miles so mine didnt smoke but a tiny puff. ive seen videos though of some major smoke.

as far as low on oil with the drainage i dont think it wouldbe noticable. a lot fo what is filtering out seems to be sediment/fuel/light oil mixture. honestly...seems like the amount of oil is slim to none when i empty mine. more gas and other toxic s***.

now that its cold i get roughly 2 tablespoons worth of s*** every 250 miles. its mostly a clear liquid with a bit of that foam. for all you guys in cold climates, drain your s*** often, if that freezes around the tubing the crankase pressure has noowhere to go but thru your dipstick. and that would be bad......

i drain mine after a long drive so any liquid has a chance to warm up

i believe it would blow out the valve cover vent into your intake. either way its bad news.
