Sorry to hear. Glad you were not going fast. Anyone remember the ol car/days when your throttle could stick if the mount came loose?? Now I'm dating myself.. Down right scary since I am considering going with a MS3. What do you guys think would fix it in a recall? Stronger mount bolts? An add on engine dampening system? Somebody in aftermarket should be all over this soon if not already.

They just need to clear the rubber from the mount surface and retighten it is all.

The bolt is plenty strong and a member did a test on it for shear strength which was quite high from I remember.

man dude , im so sorry to here that , it hits home happening to you your my bud. that suuuucks big time!!!!

i would make a complaint to mazda north america explaing all the details of how the dealership handleded your complaints that you thouhgt something was wrong before it happend and how they blew you off etc reading mags and not really checking the bolt

Man that really sucks.
Dont forget to alert NHTSA. And heres to hoping that the stealership takes care of you. Just dont forget to be civil, although i know id be pissed as hell if i had mine checked twice and then this s*** happened. And if they try to blame your boost gauge then you know youve got a group of stupid guys and should go elsewhere lol.

why did you try and count on what the dealer says ???

why don't you go out and torque the mounts to spec yourself so you know it gets done. **** what the dealer says, do it yourself.

lol yeh they probably would look at it with a little confusion! Im going to do a lot of stuff tomorrow and contacting NHTSA is one of them, Ive been reading through Ohios Lemon Laws and its making things pretty clear that I should totally be componsated for this, even to the means of a new car...

The bad/good thing is my Dads going to go with me, good thing is he dosent give a s*** what anyone sayes he make the point very clear, bad thing is He can get a little ill tempered when doing so. It still hasnt hit me though, I think when I go there tomorrow and see my car sitting in there then Ill realize what has actually happend. Because in reality this should NOT happen on any let alone a car with 7500 miles on it.

The thing that has me most worried is now the stealership that couldnt even check the mount properly, is going to be the shop fixing the whole damn thing. Im very concerned and honestly the car has lost a lot of value to me and Im sure to any that would buy it in the future with this happening to it........

Those who have had this failure I would like to know if they looked under the bolt head and found rubber on the mount surface?

They say this is what causes the failures and mine is clear as can be with it looks like 2 washers or spacers under the bolt head. I have no way of supporting the engine weight to check if its tight but all looks good as of now.

My friend has the same build date of 08-06 so I will check his as well and report back what I see.

The fact the dealer we told to check it then it happened they are pretty red handed on that one. However like my dealer and every other one they arent going to start checking it just cause we say so there has to be a recall. Mine told me dont worry its under warranty so they wouldnt check s***.

Personally I stand there and wait for the mechanic and watch as well as ask questions if he doesnt mind. I dont like hearing from a window clerk what the mechanic did.

Good luck, with the car even though you are a boner. LOL.

lol thanks I guess... To clear it up though when I would take the car in for that they would "enforce" the No Customer in the Bay rule, which was crap and I told them that... I would go to the parts room to ask for different parts I didnt care about and while they would look them up on the computer I would peek out the window to see what they were doing, and everytime I would look there was either nonone even by the car or they would be sitting in it, I dont really think you can check the mount in the drivers seat can you?????

People either have s*** for Mazda service departments or good ones. I'm lucky enough to have a good one thankfully.

Sorry about your car bro! Mazda NA really needs to step up to the plate and issue a recall for this.

Wow, I can't say anything else. Man that guy that worked on your car is in something now. They get payed to look at your car and then when they mess it up it's the entire dealerships fault. Well let us know how it turns out.

Im sorry to hear about this, but Im even sorrier to inform that I too, have an 08/06 build. I think Ive been hearing a pop under some acceleration lately as well.

Could you describe, in more detail, what led you to believe your car needed to be seen, before this happened. You said it was making some different noises than what you had heard before.

Damn Im annoyed right now.

If mine breaks Im giving it up. Period. I wont drive a brand new car with this s*** going on. I still have water leaking under my passenger floor board and after two service trips, my official response is that it has been checked for leaks, and there is nothing wrong. They feel that I should run the AC on re3circ and the problem will be resolved.

Ive got a finicky car with a crap dealership, and this board isnt making me feel any better. I came from Lexuses and Acuras into this thing and there is a BIG difference in the way things are handled. And I mean more than just the Starbucks and cookies in the waiting rooms.

I have to agree...that was the stupidest s*** I've ever heard spewed from a members mouth... completely unnecessary...

W/E, your post was inappropriate, off-topic, generally out of line, and fairly offensive towards 'Speed3 owners. I just thought maybe you should try thinking before posting.

Welcome to the club.......... Sorry to hear about your troubles, but rest assured mazda will get it straight. Its kind of like a right of passage. Your not a real MS3 owner till you go through the hell of having a motor mount fail. :D

It must be initiation to having the top 10 best car for its price range, lol.

I must say that my mount/bolt area looks perfect but I will compare it to my friends since his build date is 08/06 and mine is 02/07. I will post back and let you guys know what I see different if anything.
