My Car just blew up?

15 psi daily, AutoX, driven through winter and 34k. You guys just don't know what you're doing.

Saying the FS-DET isnt reliable under boost is just about as dumb sounding as saying a rotary isn't reliable. TOTALLY uneducated opinions here. Sure, some are better than others and every one of these cars is different. Everything that makes it an MSP was put on by a technician in Washington.

Get real and get educated before you all come on here spouting nonsense. Just because 20 out of 3000 have killed a motor doesn't mean they're unreliable. Look at Subarus notorious water jacket failures and Nissan's horrible electrical problems as of late.

Its a machine, built by a man. Its going to break.

i think you guys are right. They voided the warrenty officially today b/c they claim someone tampered with the car and drained oil out of it causing it to seize. But i'm pretty sure that it is impossible to drain the oil without jacking the car up. It is just to low to the ground with the side skirts. Would you agree on that? The things the dealership is saying just doesnt add up. I have also put a claim in on my insurance (full coverage) based on the dealership claim that the car was tampered with. IF they could cover it that would be great. With the 7000.00 the dealership is cdharging I could replace me engine with forged internals, a potato, and some other goodies. I just know i wont be having any service done at a mazda dealer ever again.
That really is a crock of s***. Oh and also, they cannot "void the warranty", only warranty on whatever they feel is affected by the mods. While it is there, I would make them fix any loose clip, squeak, reattle, clunk, etc. just to be a ball buster. I would contact a lawyer- I assure you that no one drained your oil. If the turbo was bad, it went out there- so that should be covered anyway. ******* moron "techs"- "I am ASE certified, bow down"- yeah, you know what you read in a book but have no common sense to figure s*** out yourself- man, I hate dealerships. The thing I don't understand is if you were that low on oil, wasn't the light flickering or the gauge erratic?? I wonder how honest they are even being in the whole "only 20 ounces of oil" thing. Sounds like they were trying to be pricks from the start and just wanted to use anything to void it. Have you called the dealer you got it from and said anything to them? I would give them hell and tell them what happened and see if they do anything.

Never said a MSP can run forever, just saying there are those that can keep them together longer than others. You don't just throw an MBC on and drive it like it is a damn corvette. Just like people are blowing them stock due to bad driving habits for a turbo car.

Same thing with the WRX- there are several people keeping them together for tens of thousands of miles so far with MBC's, mods, etc. and 0 issues, then you get the morons that throw mods at it and blow them up witin a week.

FWIW, I got rid of my MSP because I didn't like the "aura" that car had- I was constantly compared to ricers even with the power it was making and at the time I really wanted to do a twin turbo v8 car and really go fast, stop playing with these toys- but as my wedding got closer, the goal got farther so I ended up trading the GT in to get the WRX and just have a more practical tuneable car. Not to mention the MSP would NEVER meet my goals. I am used to driving 10 second domestics and 11 second DSM's as DAILY drivers, so a 13 sec MSP was boring as hell for me and it would take too much to get what I would like out of it.

I am torn with the WRX- part of me wants to build the snot out of it (motor and all), part of me wants to leave it alone and get another DSM to beat the snot of- they are stronger and easier to build anyway. Only thing is most WRX guys are pretty slow-yes, I know there are some fast ones, but for the most part there aren't many fast WRX's- so I wouldn't mind being one of the "few". Then there is the whole OBD2 emissions testing they are doing here now- there goes the haltech ideas. We'll see what happens, I am already starting the parts pile, just don't know if I'll use them or not.
