A lot of people have blown 100% stock MSP's, a lot have blown modded MSP's and a lot are driving modded MSP's trouble free- so it is not just the actual car- there are a lot of variables- lugging a turbo car is the #1 NO-NO. I have argued with people about this for the last year and a half on this board!!!Slider said:Oopps! I missed that, he didn't boost at all?
Strange.

I know for sure that my car is still alive today because I never boost in the wrong gear. If I am doing under 45, I use second gear even if I am only going to push the throttle past half-way. I have seen at least 3 or 4 people on here that have mentioned questionable gear selection after they blew their motors.
I am not saying that is the only thing that could of happened to daedulus, but boosting these cars that weren't really meant for it calls for extreme caution when you are in boost. You need to always consider load when you have a turbo car, but moreso for us that still have stock internals in the msp. If you have a lot of weight in the car, or are going up a steep hill, take extra care to make sure that you are in the proper gear before boosting at all. It doesn't even take very much boost to snap our rods if the load is high enough.

Ever ridden a 10 Speed bike up hill in top gear??Jhova1012 said:*n00b question alert*
What determines the amount of load on the engine and why is boosting under high load such a problem?
Obviously if your going up a steep in hill in 4th gear at 2k rpms that cant be good, but why is boosting in 5th/low rpms such a bad idea? Im confused.... is it even possible to be in boost at that low of an engine speed? I know the turbo is small but....
