Looks nice! Do kits like this use the power that is supplied by the factory harness, or does it use it's own harness/relay?

Oh. I was under the impression that the factory harness couldn't handle an HID system without using a relay, or taking the chance of melting stuff?

its been fine for me. ive had this for about a month. i even drove for about 3 hours one night with no problems.

With HIDs, you should have no problems with melting. There is a higher chance of the ballast blowing up, then melting.

Thinking of getting either a XenonDepot Kit or a Mcculloch Kit.

Anyways, got a few question for you:

-I've heard that the bulbs will "bounce" around when you hit speed bumps in the road. Is this true? How did you find a solution for this?

-Where did you mount the ballasts inside the car engine bay? What
is the best place to mount them?

-Is the Mcculloch Kit you got really Plug N Play? What mods did you have to do?

only thing i had to do was put washers around the back of the bulb so it doesnt bounce around. so no it doesnt bounce around at all, actually its tighter than stock. and yeah besides that its plug and play. i didnt even have to ground them.

also, and where'd u mount them "boxes" ?? how'd u get a washer on a bulb?? also.. is the 4700K really white? cus it looks like a dull yellowish in the pic NS THE 6K LOOKED BETTER.. BUT U'RE SYAING WITH THE 4700, U'LL GET MORE DISTANCE WITH IT OPPOSE TO THE 6K?

Here's a quick HID101. The most amount of light (as measured in lumens) is produced around 4300k. It is a white light at 4300k. As you go up, the light has more and more of a blue hint to it but the amount of light (again in lumens) is actually reduced. Thus, 6000k looks better (assuming 'better' means more blue tint), but 6000k has less light than say 4300k.

If you imagine 4300k and 6000k as the two extremes, there is also a 5000k, which as you can imagine, is a compromise between the two.

Having said this, even at 6000k, the light output is still more than double that of halogens (and despite the blue hue, when you're inside the car looking out, the light still appears white).

So there's the info you need to make an appropriate choice for yourself.

I have 6000K and I pulled up next to a Lexus IS300....his shined a bit futher up the road and where more white than mine...

These lights look very nice. I'd do this mod if I thought the lights won't have any long term issues (ie. melting the housing)

where can i get these i ve never researched this, i have a mazda6, but damn it looks nice, is there any stores online that sells these besides ebay, and if so do they fit most any car, like my mazda6, any info appreciative?

Its not the car its type of Bulbs...Just get the Kit with the type of bulbs you car needs. Plug in the new HID Bulb in your existing factory housing..plug the ballast into the Bulb and then plug your existing factory connector into the ballast. They operate by taking 35W and getting a solid state charge of 20,000 Volts that exictes the Xenon gas to Ignite it basically(hence the bright flash at startup). The never get hot. I used to hear strain on my alternator when I turned my lights on and but now I don't hear it. Even when I start the car with the headlights on the lights never dim out like the halogens do.
My 6000K is a Bright white with a blue/purple tint.
