msp vs srt-4?

right now im at 9psi with catless corkport 60mm, fmic, meth (spraying at 6psi) split second ftc on the stock super map.... i take stock and slightly modded srt4s all day. took a mazdaspeed 3 easy the other day. a lot of it has to do with the driver too...

I borrowed my moms caravan the other day and was at a stoplight next to a zr1 and the light turned green and i heard his supercharger max out and i was still ahead of him and i know he was trying as hard as he could and i beat him by about a dozen van lengths all the way to 238mph

I found myself driving next to a building with huge windows today and I just watched my MSP driving ever o gracefully in the windows. My orange color just sparkled in the sun.... about 1 min went by and had noticed that somehow I had aroused myself. This must happen to every Mazda owner right?

My MSP with a FMIC, intake, exhaust and BOV (no boost controller) my car definitely felt faster than the MS3 I test drove. And believe me I got down on it during the test drive. But I think the guy that owned it before me put cams in it cause I'm pretty sure 6900-7000 Rpms is not stock for MSP's.

Pull your valve cover and check it out dude.

I've also ran into a SRT4 driving back from AL with much different results than the OP.

I've pulled those cams out multiple times and have set the timing just as many times. The car still has a high rev. The guy I bought it from mentioned something about cams but I thought he was b.s.ing. Then I noticed not to long ago that the stock rev is 6600 rpms. I'm pretty sure one of the guys at ********** owned this car cause when I went to uti down in orlando I met a guy that worked for mazda that said one of the guys over there did a lot mods to an msp just like mine then turned it back to stock to sell it. When I got the car I did notice a few things that led me to believe that it was modded before. But my question is are there any aftermarket cams that make the fs motor rev that high?

The rev limi is not in te cams it in the cars computer so if ur not running a standalone ur still at ur stock rev limiter. All cams do is help disperse exhaust gases faster, on a turbo car that equals faster spool

Can't say I've done that, I'm usually pretty careful, or slow down A LOT when no one is in front of me.

The '03 SRT4 had less power I believe 205 or 210 and no LSD, if that's what you mighta ran against.Plus most people don't know how to drive anyways.

So i was pretty sure our cars are supposed to be slower...Had a little spirited driving yesterday behind a 03 srt-4 and i was gaining after every shift. I know he was givin it the juice too...all i have is the pretty minor mods in my sig and a minor boost leak (spikes to 14 holds at 9ish...)

I smoked a Stage 3 SRT about 6 times - I needed 32psi and 110 octane to do it though.

We pulled into a gas station after and he asked me what I had done. I say what I always do - that my car is completely stock.
