msp vs srt-4?

So i was pretty sure our cars are supposed to be slower...Had a little spirited driving yesterday behind a 03 srt-4 and i was gaining after every shift. I know he was givin it the juice too...all i have is the pretty minor mods in my sig and a minor boost leak (spikes to 14 holds at 9ish...)

Moderators this was NOT street racing or a speed contest, just a little fun with a fellow turbo enthusiast

Its still construed as illegal activity. Technically speaking the srt4 neon still has the best 0-60 time of any fwd (afaik). I think the best time i ever saw was in the low 5s, like 5.2 or something

i would say by the numbers your msp would be beaten. As far as what events actually unfolded during your "enthusiasm," no one can say for sure

comparing the two, after having driven both, the MSP is a better handling car and the SRT-4 is a more powerful car. the MSP is MUCH more fun to drive, unless you prefer to run only in a straight line. even the ACR SRT-4 doesn't handle as well as the MSP.

Eh.. I think it comes down to opinion but then again my internal wastegate was fubar on my MSP when my Uncle had his SRT. His SRT was WAY more fun then my MSP at the time... The SRT is all about raw power and cant make a u-turn at alight ot save its life due to really bad turning radias. Never did get a chance to fling it around as it wasn't my car to beat on.

But there's a red and black srt-4 near me that is fast, can't turn but fast. 11.2 was his best time hahaha.

This debate has been beat to death. I can't believe your spiking at 14psi. Geez. Thats a little risky if I do say so myself. I think that the real debate should be srt4 neon vs ms3. They are in about the same class for straight line performance. Yea, the msp will out handle them both though.

Doesn't take much for an MSP to keep up with them! Intake, TBE and 9psi and ur hanging with Stock SRT4's (eekdance)

best i've seen it's the same as the MS3. SRT4 got 5.5-5.8sec 0-60 times, depending on what magazines you browse. C&D-R&T etc....

its not even an arguement, the only thing an msp has over an srt4 is its handling and o ya power windows in the rear -

My MSP with a FMIC, intake, exhaust and BOV (no boost controller) my car definitely felt faster than the MS3 I test drove. And believe me I got down on it during the test drive. But I think the guy that owned it before me put cams in it cause I'm pretty sure 6900-7000 Rpms is not stock for MSP's.

Honestly I think it depends on what you want to do.. Their are several 10sec srt4's so it can't be that bad. Now I will say RWD or AWD is preferred over FWD. Then again I can take turns a hell of a lot faster with a LSD in a FWD car then a rwd car without thinking I might spin out... Also note the stock srt-4 motor can handle around 500whp stock.

I would choose the MSP every day hands down. I wouldn't be able to get over the fact I'm driving a Neon if I had one, not to mention I have never had any desire for a Dodge product. I don't care if they can be modded to 600hp, you can barely put down the ~200 a modded MSP will make at the wheels as it is.

I have a few friends with highly modded SRT-4's and yes they all beat me, one of them does 10.2's all day.. but I also have a couple other friends that are a little closer to stock and it's kinda like a back and forth thing, it's like the cars just have to be in the mood that day.. But none of them dog on my MSP since everybody and their mom have an SRT-4, it's nice being a little different(headbang) But anyway I'd take my MSP anyday.
