HOWEVER, you would have to do a _lot_ of suspension work to get a Golf to even get close to an MSP on the track. Even with coilovers, sway bars, strut braces, etc etc etc the MSP is going to kill almost any Golf.

2000 and 2001 VW 1.8T's were 150hp. 2002 and later are 180. the 2001 and 2002 engines (aww and awp engine code, respectively) are mechanically identical, the only difference being that VW upped the boost a bit in 2002. So basically all chipped 1.8T's produce about the same output, no matter what they did from the factory.
