thats somewhat disturbing, i got in on this post late, just my 2 cents you guys know the evo 8 with a REAL driver runs a 13.09 right? if u dont believe me read the sport compact car article called 24 hours with evo.
And a turboed car only making 170

This topic has pretty much been covered to exhausted points and not going anywhere.
Pretty much agreed that it would take alot of engine work to get the MSP up to EVO performance. Course the EVO could spend a fraction of that and be even faster.
Heck why don't we all try and see what it would take for a MSP to be as fast as the Enzo?? Hmmm...Does that sound just as resonable???

Thats right each car have room for improvement there are almost no cars that are 100% complete in all areas.
But yet they are not POS at the same time, which is something some people get caught up in saying.
This tread just irks me cause it has almost turned into another full on attack on both cars.
When in fact the question was simply how to make the MSP a 13 second car.
Yet again in classic MSP style it turns quickly into bashing anything that is not a MSP. The classic comparions of aftermarket vs production cost and performance that comes with them.
Production performance has never and will never be as cheap as aftermarket. The market and companies just do not work that way. However the performance is starting to come down in price as seen by both of these great cars.
The MSP from the start seem to be designed around a decently capable car with creature comforts.
The EVO and STI were designed to tear the road up while providing a decent sense of comfort.
Personally the ride of the EVO doesn't bother me which may not be as refined as other cars, but then again those cars don't have the same road handling behavior.
Each have their strong points and each have their weakness. Don't understand why people can't leave it at that and see each for what they offer.

I had a saturn and whipped the s*** out of it cause it was a piece of s*** car you actually had to redline the car (99 SL1 AUTO $free$)
when I had to pay for a car I got a 89 TURBO II 3400 put about 8-9 thousand into it, then bought a 03 turbo protege. that's the only reason why I bought the car, cause it was turbo.

and obviously you don't know a thing about rotaries. only the turbo had some issues. the non turbo N/A's are damn near bulletproof and theres alot of first and second gens running around with 200K+ miles on them. careful when you say things

bud-d man go read up on exactly what a rotary is man. Think also back when standard engines came out they weren't really realible either. The rotary is still kinda of young in the consumer auto market. And yes the N/A's were really realible! Given a good research push and marketing the Rotary has the potentional of being more realible.

everybody's afraid of what they don't understand. i'll take the engine with 3 moving parts anyday over the other internal combusition with god knows how many depending on the size
